Popped in for a quick drink on the way home from a birthday party. Pub is great and seemed to be occupied but mostly regulars but was very friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced and it is in a great location.

Very small, traditional, quaint pub. Offers excellent service and good food. We come here whenever in London. We always find someone interesting to speak with here. Just a nice friendly spot!

I love this pub for the magnificent etched glass which is just the best.Been using the place for years and you have to get in early to get a seat.Comfort food was what was needed with a chicken pie (£11.95) plenty of mash, cabbage and gravy.Only problem was the soggy pie.Content was great but must have been microwaved to get the... I enjoy going here but it does get very full. But the service is excellent, it is inexpensive (by London standards) and full of local business people.

This is a small but very cosy old fashioned English pub tucked away down a fairly narrow alley called Crown Passage in the St James district of London. The bar staff are very friendly serving good beer and a selection of appetising sandwiches at reasonable prices - considering that this is central London. An ideal light lunch stop prior to... More

Great beer, good company, nice décor in a nice area. Crisps and nuts ok, a few tables and chairs if you are quick on your feet. Not sure they do any other food. Thankfully places like this still exist.

We pop in here, from time to time, on the way to Rowley's restaurant and the simply lovely Manageress, Celia, is just SO welcoming and friendly that we would never consider passing this pub by. It's an old-fashioned London pub, with etched glass and atmosphere by the barrel-load! Highly recommend. We just love it!

With half an hour to spare I didn't have time to walk to my preferred pub so dropped into the Red Lion for the first time . It's small - it was busy but staff were excellent and the London Pride tasted just fine . I dint have time for food but those that were eating appeared to be enjoying... More

Great place for a drink and some food. The pub is really small, but very beautiful on the inside. It has a traditional vibe to it, with etched glass and polished woodwork. Ample choice of beers and pub food (though when we were there some of it was sold out). The sticky honey sausages were delicious!

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
