We met friends here and we're soon warmed by the cosy atmosphere. A lovely local eatery with no false pretences. Average food and service with something for everyone. Except not great on gluten free options.

Food and wine were delicious. Prices were great for the quality. The staff was pleasant, yet they seemed more attentive to other parties. We were going to order more but they didn't check back with us. I would go back again for sure. Also, I would advise a reservation. Good luck, and happy eating!

We were lucky to find a reservation in town here for New Year's Eve. They had a special limited menu. There were 4 of us so we ordered one each of the four appetizers - onion soup, terrine, swordfish carpaccio, green and white asparagus with duck egg and hollandaise. We liked the asparagus dish best but they were all good.... More

Found Grumbles as I walked past it and decided to try it. Turned out to be a delightful restaurant with wonderful food! Service was friendly and efficient. It was obvious that many of the customers were very much regulars, always a good sign. Highly recommended!

Started coming here 35 years ago and not much has changed except the prices, which are still reasonable. It reminds me of the old Chelsea Kitchen that used to be in The Kings Rd which offered incredible value for those that wanted a healthy variety of options. It has a french feel but luckily this is no Pol Au Pot... More

We had a great English dinner here on Christmas Eve. They have an impressive menu, the staff are very friendly and the restaurant has a good informal atmosphere. Would have appreciated some Christmas carols though instead of the light jazz at this time of year.

We booked a table at 12 to allow enough tine for a proper lunch before seeing the Wicked matinee. The restaurant decor has not changed since the last time I was here fifteen years ago, but that's a good thing. We had a warm welcome and were allowed enough time to choose our food - including checking dishes for son... More

Went there a few days ago with a friend. The food was really nice and quickly served, so no problems with that. However, the staff was not very friendly. We especially felt a little bit ill at ease with the way the manager talked and looked at us throughout the meal. But it was maybe just a bad day!

I ate here 3 nights in a row because the food and the ambience of this little restaurant was incredible! It's true, it's a small quaint place so you may need reservations, but completely worth it! Great wines and the menu hasn't changed in 20 years so you know they're doing something right!

I dared to arrive 5 minutes early and was ushered back out of an empty restaurant by a rude manager. Felt very rushed through my quite average 1970's style food.

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
