Found this gem after asking a local street trader for a nice bar. He sent us to this fabulous place. The bar area is great with large comfy sofas. It has a great atmosphere/vibe. Didn't eat here but kind of wished I had as the restaurant looked great too.

Our friend told us we must visit as its one of his favorite spots in London. We drove quite far - so expected a lot. Service was super nice - got a nice booth, everyone was stopping by to chat every 5 minutes, chef came out to check on us, etc. yet i guess we had too high of expectations... More

An intimate upscale neighborhood restaurant with style. We loved Abingdon. Food: The meal was delicious. Beautifully prepared fish, seabass and cod, were delightful. Not huge portions but thoughtful preparation. Atmosphere: Totally cool. We loved it. Very comfortable and friendly. But also stylish. A great spot to impress a first dat. Service: Honestly, there were a few mistakes. Coffee delivered well... More

My wife and I took my aunt out for an evening meal. In the past this gastro-pub has provided good food for sensible prices. But that has now changed. The prices are up. A lot. The food is now a strange mixture of dishes from around the world. My wife chose a starter - the salmon - as she did... More

Nice little intimate pub in a quiet neighbourhood. Bar is small with some comfy seating done in nice fabrics - good atmosphere, easy to chat Restaurant is in adjacent room - interesting menu with some Asian touches in the Sri Lankan chicken and pork belly. Very good international wine list at fair prices. Attentive staff

When I was in London I was craving for deserts and I really wanted the best sticky toffee pudding in London. I am not easy and when I want something I want it and I want the best. So I did my research via the web and came across the Abingdon in Kensington. They were recommended to do the best... More

Lovely, bustling bar and restaurant. Loads of atmosphere. Started with the best cocktail I've ever had, wish it had been bigger! All the courses we had were delicious, particularly the the crab and squid ink pasta. The only downside was a completely silent waiter (whole meal) who vaguely gestured which dining table was ours. Very odd, however the barman (cocktail... More

As a neighbourhood restaurant should be in this upscale part of town! Elegant, unobtrusive, friendly and above all tasty! We could not ask for more from a restaurant. My only negative is I can't afford to live in the area! Craig was gorgeous, Ben was lovely, and Amicia was cool! We love it! Thank you for delivering time and time... More

We were a party of 18, so a challenge to the staff and kitchen, as we had not pre ordered any food. The food was excellent! Not one person had a bad meal and all served at the same time.. The standard of cuisine is at a very high standard at the Abingdon - great looking food and great flavors.... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
