After using the Moro original book for a while and needing a late lunch in town we booked this and had reasonably high expectations....which were met especially with the fabulous starters. The bread is clearly 100% fresh and my fava bean purée stunning. Hubbie's courgette fritters were also incredibly flavoursome and it was a great touch to have a full... More

I'd give this place a 6 if I could. It was that good. Three of us went for lunch and shared 5 of the appetizers and then couldn't resist getting dessert. Everything from their homemade bread to teas was just fabulous. We asked for more bread to sop up the flavorful sauces on everything.

I had dinner here recently with friends. We didn`t book and clearly one must as it is very busy. Managed to get an early table promising to vacate by 930. Super food and to me, unusual dishes but high quality. Tad expensive tho !

I have been visiting Moro since it opened years ago. I visited again after a 5 year gap due to a stint abroad and can happily report that it is still as excellent as ever. Great atmosphere, exceptional service and most importantly fantastic food and expertly chosen wine list. Highly recommended for a special occasion a la carte meal at... More

We went there on our second date. And then many years later for our 12th wedding anniversary. And the truth is we've not been back often enough in between, but we've cooked so often from Sam and Sam Clark's series of cook books. It's like we have never been away. Simple but often unusual ingredients - Cecina anyone? It's cured... More

What's not to like (apart from the bill)?! Fabulously interesting food with taste and style. The butter bean and fava starter was lovely. As was the mackerel and cherries etc for mains. Loved the rose water and cardamom ‎ice cream. And my companions raved about the cheese selection with the flight of sherries.   Not cheap but worth it. What's not to... More

Came here for my mothers birthday and the flavours in each of the dishes, whether it was a starter or main course were amazing. I got to try a bit of everything and all had a uniqueness about it that made each dish stand out. i am definitely coming here again

I came here with a group of friends having heard rave reviews about the place Firstly I was over whelmed by the look of the restaurant spilling out onto a rather grubby pavement, generally the decor is of bad taste and the layout is great either making a bad atmosphere, although I was happier as we were show to seats... We had a table booked inside but asked if we could sit outside. The staff we amazing - nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and chatty. The food was different and delicious. Every course was outstanding. This place was on our list of must go places to visit and it was definitely rightly there. Really good food,... More

This restaurant cooked me and my boyfriend the best lamb we've ever had. So good my boyfriend went back a couple of days later to have it again. Will definitely come back.

Description
It might be one of the hippest venues in one of the hippest parts of the capital but this Clerkenwell restaurant still manages to be relaxed and more concerned with good food than being trendy. The restaurant’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar and open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven is functional but welcoming. The Moorish cuisine complete with subtle European influence is every bit as striking as it was when the restaurant opened its doors nearly ten years ago. Tapas served all day at the bar. Reservations taken by phone and directly from our website.PLEASE NOTE - Moro restaurant is now open seven days a week. Please refer to our website for correct opening hours

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
