So privileged to have found this place. Love everything about it. The décor is quirky and transportation you to the sea side and Herve makes the best lobster. The best lobster I've had in London.

Hidden in a busy part of London that one would not associate with gastronomy, entering the Lobster Pot is like going into a teleport and suddenly finding oneself in a small French fishing village. The tasting menu is well worth the money.

What a pity this fantastic restaurant is closing. The chef/ patron / maitred' and his lovely wife are going to take it a bit easier. The place next door is owned and run by their sons with similar ethos.

Years ago there were really good restaurants where the chef loved to show off his cooking (there were few lady chefs then) by producing lots of courses of rich dishes so that by the end you really felt as if you'd eaten well. This is one of those. As did most in the place we chose the 8 course lobster... More

This is a lovely quirky restaurant near the IWM. We had the 8 course tasting meal which was very nice although they wouldn't tell you what you were going to get. The chef is French and French waiting staff would make it more authentic. Shane it is closing

I love this place! The Surprise 8 Course menu is always delight for a long lunch in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. With food and service to match - what more could you want? Don't expect 'posh' but smart enough to enjoy thoroughly.

Booked this on a whim with a groupon deal and am still thinking how lucky that was it dropped into my inbox. Restaurant set out with a nautical feel, portholes, seagulls crying and very cozy table settings. We went for the 8 course surprise with champagne and it really was worth the trip from the city centre. Starters of fresh... More

This was a great way to finish the day after watching cricket at the nearby Oval. My daughter in law and I enjoyed starters of Fresh crab with Mango and Asparagus, and Prawns and Scallops in a mushroom and garlic sauce. This was followed by Fillet of Tuna, while I enjoyed a superb Halibut in a mild curry sauce. Two... More

Just wow, wow and wow, wow Absolutely fantastic dining experience, the food was to die for it really was that good. As I said I wished I had found this restaurant 10 years earlier it really was that good. 10 out of 10 or 100 out of 100 it really was that good. Probably the best lobster anywhere I have... More

Five friends and myself had a lunch at this restaurant recently and were impressed by the service and the excellent quality of the food which is cooked to order and beautifully presented. The chef prepared the food to individual tastes and even accommodated my wife who doesn't like food cooked in butter or wine (sad). The fish was very fresh... More

"A tiny place about which much has been written and all of it intriguing - ranging from alarmed descriptions of the kitsch nautical decor, surreal recordings of seagulls and ocean waves to the highest praise for the genuinely French cooking. Fish and seafood are the thing, with a few offerings for unrepentant carnivores. The bouillabaisse is reckoned a triumph by those who know, as is the plateau de fruits de mer. Lots of couples, a few government types as it's within the Division Bell. Le patron mange ici. Go and cast yourself adrift in oceans of seafood.

What's cooking?

For starters we particularly enjoyed the fresh mussels with garlic, tomato and cream sauce and the grilled prawns with homemade garlic butter followed by the grilled fillet of tuna and the seabass with a cream, pernod and wild mushroom sauce. For dessert the pancakes are a must - believe me!!
And now an 8 course Surprise Menu with a lobster course !
