I'll always hit this place when I have a craving for Ethiopian food and need me some injera!! It's got the best Doro Wot in town! It's a really lovely place, lots of atmosphere with the African wood carvings, textiles and panels. They'll also do you an Ethiopian coffee ceremony if you're so inclined. Big fan!

I only had Ethiopian food once. It was a few years ago in a nearby restaurant. I quite enjoyed it. But Lalibela is something else. The place - which I assume - looks authentic is already quite a treat but the food is absolutely delicious. I've had lamb, which was good, but my girlfriend had some lentils dishes which were... Never tried Ethiopian cuisine before and dining at Lalibela was a really nice experience. We loved the food, meant to be eaten with hands, which was generously served, and with a unique taste, very enjoyable - not so much the white wine we had, which was definitely not one of the best I've ever tried, though still drinkable. Apart from... More

Stop reading reviews and go already, it's delicious, really. I can also recommend the Ethiopian spiced tea!

We always like to eat out and try something new. This was the case for us, so we were happy to travel an hour to Lalibela. The restaurant itself and decor was lovely, and authentic. The people there were really nice and the service was excellent. The Ethiopian food of course was something we had never had before so could... More

The food here is amazing. Fresh and healthy and traditional. Staff are very polite. Service can be a little slow but the food is worth the wait, recommend the lamb and the slow cooked pumpkin.

We went on a Tuesday night and there were a descent amount of dinners at the restaurant. The service was average to above average and we had no complaints. The food was nice, extremely tasty with rich flavors. The only complaint in the food was that the pancake bread had a touch too much vinegar for my liking. A good... More

Hi Simon, We're really glad that you enjoyed your meal at Lalibela! Just to let you know, we don't put any vinegar in our sour dough Injera. It's simply fermented bread which is why you get the sour flavours but these tend to complement the richness of our main dishes. We also have some alternatives in the "Essentials" section on... Rare Ethiopian restaurant. interior design is interesting. Not a large menu but the quality is good. It was a good dinner for us but for some it may be challenging. We had mostly non meat dishes but they were all tasty and really enjoyed. Their thin pancake may need getting used to but contains lots of good nutrients. It takes... More

In an attractive setting we had a superb meal served by very friendly and helpful staff. Don't ask me what we ate, I have no idea! We ordered for a table of 14, had a selection of dishes served with a large, pancake-like bread. It was unlike any cuisine I have previously tried, but if I am ever in London... More

I have been in this restaurant many times and it has never disappointed me. Looking for a vegetarian meal, the Ye Tsom Beyaynetu (to be shared between 2) is the perfect option. It comes with three kinds of mild and spicy lentils and three portions of vegetables. Highly recommended.

Thank Stefanofsky
