My wife and myself - together a visiting family member - were looking for somewhere on Putney High St to have a tasty snack earlier today and settled on the Putney Pantry which is an integral part of St Mary’s Church. We all settled for...the Soup of the Day (Pumpkin with a blend of spice) which was served with some fresh bread and was very tasty. There were also a good range of other tempting dishes available and not difficult, therefore, to see why it is such a popular eatery. Another bonus is the ability to not only have a look around the impressive St Mary’s Church but to see the interesting Putney Debates 1647 Exhibition!More

A friend and I visited on a Saturday morning during lockdown and ordered a veggie breakfast, eggs royale and the American style pancakes. Although there was a bit of a wait as the kitchen was quite busy that morning- the food was really great and...I would certainly visit again. Really good quality ingredients, very well prepared and with generous portions.More

I reviewed PUTNEY PANTRY October 2018 - was there in person. Have not had opportunity to return in person - (I live in Israel); I MUST write an UPDATE, however! My brother & sis-in-law - who live in Putney - are frequent customers - and...- in this world lockdown period - have been able to receive occasional deliveries.........My brother has a very special Birthday.....how to?... what to?.....frustration? Then - a light-bulb hit (metaphorically!).......I called ISSA - the chef and "boss" of PUTNEY PANTRY.....and worked out - with his help - a very special & crafted menu - with wine! It was delivered - personally - yesterday.......brother is AMAZED & THRILLED! The food is sooo very good....Cordon Bleu home-cooking....their savoury tarts; salmon fish-cakes; jacket potatoes......bread & butter pudding, pear frangipane tart.......luscious....all really gourmet cooking to enjoy! Can recommend - thoroughly 100%.......Issa's personal help was also 100%.....can't wait to get back there.....enjoy!More

The Putney Pantry in St. Mary's Church next to Putney Bridge was already an outstanding and memorable establishment serving more than just the community: Chef Issa and his crew have now excelled themselves in these challenging times under the influence of the Corona Virus and...serve Gourmet Star award winnig dishes - daily - to the community. My wife and I had a full Sunday Lunch including dessert and afternoon tea with scones, jam and cream serving demanding palets and eyes. If you live in this part of the world - my recommendaion: It is woth the while trying.More

This place is a genuine miracle in a big City. The food is simple but perfect in every way, just like your mother used to make. The young staff are smiley, friendly and really care that you are happy. They could teach other restaurants a...thing or two about service! This reflects in the customers, who are also unusually friendly and helpful. Cynic in general - I cannot praise this place highly enough. Thank you for making my day.More

The Pantry is nicely located at the Putney end of Putney Bridge and forms part of the lovely St Mary's church. My disabled wife and I have been regular visitors, often dropping in for a coffee when visiting the area. The Pantry was recently closed...for a few weeks but is now open for business. Today we again called by and it was as busy as usual but the service was particualary slow (slower than usual). Most upsetting was how dirt the furniture was - tatty, covered with dirty finger marks and dust. It clearly hasn't been cleaned for some time and is looking very uncared for. While there one customer returned her food because they weren't happy with it. Not the cheapest place in Putney, and as part of the church It needs to step up. The new furniture arrangement out side needs revisiting, we had to get other customers to move their chairs and belongings to get a wheelchair through.More
