This is a fantastic place. We had a wonderful evening. Food was amazing. Go for the lobster and you are in heaven! It’s just also very expensive.

Food was good , sausage outstanding , desserts and bread strongest parts , service good - young lad behind bar very helpful , expected 12.5% optional service but turned out to be 14.5% - truffle offered on two courses which would have been £250 (plus...optional £36.25) - about the same as it cost for lunch at Kol next day.Overall , enjoyable but expensive for this standard.More

There are some incredible dishes on the tasting menu. The scallops, sardines, shrimp, and lobster are phenomenal. The presentation was beautiful. The staff are friendly. However, for a two star restaurant I expected a little more in ambiance. The dining area doesn’t have a special...feel to it, it could be anywhere. Also, it’s annoying to be sold additional items throughout the meal. You’re already paying a high price and then the staff are offering an extra courses or optional truffle on two dishes for more cost. The full menu should be costed without having to sneak things through the backdoor.More

Third and probably last visit. Really enjoyed the first two times. This was just mediocre. We had the full tasting menu and wine pairing, bill was over £900. For the quality it would have been expensive at half the price.

When considering a review the way a restaurant presents itself along with the amount charged and as we did the 8 course plus one more it works out at £220 per person along with a further £175 for the wine pairing along with the fact...they actively make sure you start with a glass of champagne prior to the meal as the wine will not arrive until after the initial "snacks", so this is a £1000 meal for 2 when you are said and done, it has to be something special bordering spectacular. As you may have guessed that is the problem, it was enjoyable and good but just doesn't hit the heights to justify the cost. You cannot even get a proper coffee at the end of the meal, as they don't have a espresso machine, not the end of the world but equally not acceptable. The weak filter coffee they do offer is best skipped. So the experience itself, the place is nice but not amazing and they also cram a few to many tables into the space. You don't have issues with other guests but the waiters do struggle to move between and you can occasionally get knocked. The food itself is very good and the beverage pairings do generally work, however when the lobster course was served with creamy broth as the drink rather than a glass of wine, this just seemed like a way to save money rather than being the ideal pairing. The broth was an integral part of the meal, not really a suitable pairing. The standout course was the scallop with a truffle dressing, it was an option course but we would highly recommend this, but it says everything you have to pay more for the best course. Overall The Clove Club was disappointing, not because anything was bad but because it represents terrible value for money. There are restaurants in London with equally good if not better tasting menus in nicer surroundings for considerably less. The pairing on the lobster course was simply wrong and while the service was good there was not the personal touches that set apart great restaurants from good ones. It needs more courses of the quality of the scallop along with a better layout of the dining area to justify the price.More

Second trip to the clove club, the full tasting menu was uninspired and lacked knock out dishes. Alternatives to shellfish were poor and underwhelming. A disappointing over all experience with slow service and ordinary dishes. The main aged pork loin was tough and bland. Perhaps...after recent accolades and second a second star they are now suffering from the hype and expectations being raised. I will be certainly avoiding from now on and enjoying the many alternatives in London at this price point.More

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my lunch at the clove club. I did not expect to taste things so different from the usual, especially the italian cuisine I am used to. It was a fantastic experience from top to bottom. Quite expensive,...even for fine dining standard (480£ for 2 people with no pairings or extras whatsoever) but 100% worth it. The staff especially was exquisitely nice and the woman that welcomed us and with whom I have been in touch for weeks to organise the lunch really made an impression and showed genuine human care for my health conditions and my annoying requests. Unforgettable first experienceMore

Working through the list of the best restaurants in the world, we had the chance to visit this location in London Shoreditch. The food was good but there was only one dish that stood out - the raw Orkney scallops. The staff was friendly and...did its job as you would expect in a two star Michelin restaurant. Worth mentioning is the sommelier and the barmen who really knew how to shine with their skills. The only thing disturbing was the noisy surroundings. There were to many tables placed in the rather small room. This, combined with the open kitchen and a lot of staff running up and down the dining room, causes an uneasy and tensed atmosphere you would not expect in a restaurant of this standing.More

I had the pleasure of experiencing the full tasting menu with tea pairing. This was one of the best meals I have ever had and certainly my favorite in London. The food is of course unbelievable, we were literally smiling with each mouthful. Every course...was a stand out and completely unpretentious. The service was completely equal to the food in its quality.More

I had previously visited Clove Club for a memorable and delicious solo dinner and was this keen to return with my partner. We had a nice enough evening, but, given the restaurant's reputation and price, left somewhat disappointed. We sat at the bar. I think...this was a mistake, in retrospect. Although it was one of the options for the booking, which would indicate an equal level of service to the dining room, we felt like an afterthought much of the evening. And the bartender, whilst polite, mumbled and was difficult to understand. Among other staff with whom we interacted, only one brought personality; the others were machine-like. We chose wines by the glass, not wanting the full pairing. We very clearly ordered the normal Riesling and were instead served the orange Riesling. When we pointed this out after again glancing at the wine list, the sommelier offered only a small taste of the originally ordered wine. And we were charged for the glass. Mistakes happen, but at a place with two Michelin stars, I found the failure to remove the glass from the bill and/or simply offer a complimentary pour of the wine we ordered chintzy and poor form. As for food, it was fine, but among other restaurants of this quality, unmemorable. Some dishes were excellent; for example, starting snacks of crab and chicken and the smoked trout stood out. Others, especially an odd custard with white asparagus and a dessert covered in popcorn (including, in poor form for a restaurant of this caliber, buried unpopped kernels that were tooth-killers!), disappointed and seemed more about showing off fancy techniques than flavor. Overall, not horrible, but not the knock-your-socks-off experience I remembered from my first visit and what seemed like an off night, service-wise. I would not warn someone away but also would not especially recommend based on this experience.More

Small well appointed restaurant that has the right number of staff to serve at two star standard. After 102 michelin stars, it’s something I am used to.the only thing they don’t do is the choreographed serving of plates to groups. Each course was well presented...and very pretty. The spider crab amuse bouche was exceptional. Every course was an interesting culinary journey presented artistically. Special mention for the unusual sorbet with habanero chilli palate cleanser. Slight glitch of a surprise price for the tea pairing drinks, properly resolved in my favour. It’s unquestionably not cheap but the food is good. Not the best Michelin food I have had but still very good. Disabled toilet was offered as facilities clean and functional.More
