Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely food but was spoilt by a very unpleasant staff member. The lady who took our order was lovely but the lady who took our drinks order wasn’t very pleasant and when she brought us the wrong wine she look at us like we were...something on her shoe. I wouldn’t go back because of her.More

My friend and I came here for dinner before a theatre show. We booked in advance, and were pleased to find that there was aircon (we visited during high summer temperatures)! We were welcomed on arrival and seated quickly. My friend is gluten free and...I am pescatarian, and we had so many options to choose from! We ordered a selection of tapas dishes and all were absolutely delicious. We had padron peppers, manchego, chickpea and vegetable stew, grilled squid, patatas bravas, asparagus and tortilla. The service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect. We felt unhurried, and the food was brought out in stages. I only wish we had longer to spend eating and soak up the atmosphere but we had to rush off to the theatre. We will definitely be returning but for the evening, rather than just a pre-show meal!More

Back and still as good as ever. Can get busy so tables can be difficult to get but if you're looking for a sultry, darkened lair to eat in, this is it - in the middle of a very busy city. Service with a smile.

Yummy tapas, good wine options, and satisfactory service. I would recommend it before a show. They also take reservations which is helpful for planning.

Came here for an anniversary dinner. Ordered bread for while we looked over the rest of the menu. Had to ask for it 3 times and it took an hour to come, so we didn’t eat our main order until we’d been there for over...an hour and a half. The meal was tasty but we left feeling incredibly ignored and disappointedMore

Had an impromptu stop at the Port House on the way back from an underwhelming wine bar. I wasn’t expecting much when we walked in as the restaurant front is quite small. We were sat at the front bar and served by an hour incredibly...engaging bar tender from Poland, who really made us feel special and went out of his way to endgame in conversation. The wine list by the glass was quite short but was reasonable, we ate the marinated anchovies, Jamon and grilled pimientos . All we’re very good and exactly what you’d expect from a nice restaurant. Ambience was great, all of the staff were lovely and we had a fantastic night out!More

Our second visit to the port house for pre-show dinner and still as good as it was all those years ago! Really nice menu with great variety. We went for the tapas style dishes to share and picked about 4. All the food was really...nice and the service as good as ever. Look forward to going again in the future.More

Authentic tapas, so delicious and moreish. You just keep ordering more as its so good ;). Big range of gluten free options and fab selection of botanical gins & some very smooth red wines. Been here half a dozen times over the years and still...come back and try something new on the menu. The bellota and pardon peppers are beyond divine. Great place for dinner with friends, family or a great date night for a couple that love Spanish food in candlelit surroundings. Highly recommend. You can book a table online. Great service by Nicky, thank you! See you all again soon.More

Our first visit to this small but atmospheric bar. Service was good, staff were knowledgeable. One of the best gin cocktails we've ever had anywhere and the tapas were quick to arrive and delicious. Would thoroughly recommend and will return for sure.

I concur with the other replies, call them. It is a fairly small establishment and if I recall they do not take bookings for small parties, but the staff are very helpful so ring them.
