Had a Sunday roast which was lovely and the Yorkshire puddings are huge and melt in your mouth. It's a bit pricey but well worth the extra, just make sure you book well in advance as it's always fully booked up.

The menu is fairly small but really good. Great staff and cosy informal interior. Puddings excellent, particularly the hot chocolate pot.

I always pass this everyday to work and when it's open at lunch time, you can inhale the wonderful smell of cooked meats and it always makes me hungry! Finally I gave in and went during my lunch break. I ordered a simple steak and chunky chips dish - which I though should be easy to cook up. It was... More

Me and some friends had a great meal here, I had the chicken which was lovely ( although would have liked some greens) the girls had steak and loved it. It wasn't cheap and I'm very glad I shared the chocolate pudding as it was HUGE I would definitely come back here with my boyfriend.

Visited for a Sunday's roast with friends that I haven't seen in years. I didn't booked a table. I arrived at 11.40 and there was already few people queuing outside. Likely we managed to get the last table available. Great friendly service. Food was very good too, roast beef was a bit tough, but perfectly cooked and great flavour. Roast... More

The Pig and Butcher came highly recommended as a gastro pub and we were very keen to try it out. It was effectively our local for our week in London and we visited three times. The staff were delightful and helpful and the pub itself is classic and fully established as a gastro pub. The owner was very engaging and... More

Incredible feed from start to finish, beginning with the sourdough bread and dripping, finishing with one of the best deserts I've had. The roast Pork and Apple sharer was superb, we left suitably fed and watered. Great atmosphere in there and service with a smile. Highly recommend this and The Smokehouse, the sister restaurant.

We loved this restaurant - great service and equally great food. The short rib is definitely worth ordering although I was also very impressed by the crab pate. Portions err on the generous side, which is a nice change from some other places in London. Excellent wine list too.

We found this place through Trip Advisor looking for a good Sunday Roast. A great neighborhood restaurant with the perfect local feel. We did not make reservations so we had to wait at the bar for a while drinking a couple of pints. Great bar staff, very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend making reservations in advance. The food was phenomenal and... More

Description
The Pig and Butcher occupies a handsome pub built in the mid 1800's on what was fields used by farmers to rest and feed their livestock before being sent to Smithfield's Meat Market. We have brought the pub back to it's roots and receive carcasses straight from the farm and butcher them on site. We specialise in rare breeds such as White Park cattle, Iron Age pigs and Hebridean lamb while our friend Seb at Chart Farm supplies our game - if you haven't tried his venison you haven't lived! In summer we grill over coal and wood on our specially built Robata grill. In winter we brine, cure, smoke and braise.Vegetables come from Kent and are as good and as fresh as anything you'll find in this country. Our fish is supplied by Rupert on the south coast. He calls us in the morning and tells us what the day boats have caught and what he has. This is one of the reasons our menu changes so much - we literally don't know what fish we'll be serving until we have spoken with Rupert! We take our inspiration from farmhouse tables across Europe. Food is served simply and with little fuss! Share lots of small plates or a single big plate. We like the idea of bringing conversation back to the dining table and what better way to do it than sharing/stealing food? Think of food as Granny used to make…
