Every 3 months my friend and I visit a restaurant that we've never been to. This one was recommended by her son. The entrance has a seedy look about it but don't let that put you off. Prawns and guacamole for starters, lovely. Mains of ribeye and sea bream. Rib eye was excellent. Tasty, tender and cooked to perfection. My... More

Me and the boys went here... food was unreal. Bar staff kept plying us with shots of tequila, very friendly, chicken fajitas were beautiful. Don't remember desert... sign of a good night. Check out the red lion after, best pub in London.

This restaurant was my choice to celebrate a friend's birthday. And it was really funny too see his face when I told him to get in the store with me .. Not knowing it was La Bodega Negra, and even more interesting was the receptionist telling him to take off his tie before going downstairs. Everything was as expected, the... More

I visited here on a works evening out. The food is amazing, there were 4 of us and we ordered for the table. The lamb is a must! The whole experience from walking through the sex shop to dinning was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is Mexican themed. I would go back in a heartbeat.

It's a good location just off Old Compton St and is fun in appearance both outside and within. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was nice, although the portions were small for the price you paid, so for that I can only give a 3, I would give 3.5 if that was possible though. They had a... More

Once past the 'sex shop' front. This restaurant becomes the same as many in Soho. over priced and poor service. I had issues with the booking before I got there with a host calling and insisting I had booked 19:30 when I was looking at my email confirmation stating 18:30. She eventually said that 18:30 was fine so I'm unsure... More

Although this didnt seem to be a family and kid friendly restaurant we walked in as our kids were 'starving' and had to rush to a musical. It was a great find - the staff were friendly and 'cool' (according to my kids) suggested some great food for them and us.I had a soft shell burger which was by far the... We asked a friend for post-dinner drinks recommendations and were told to look for the "sex bar" on Old Compton street. Still haven't figured out that mystery, but indeed, if you walk down the stairs of a building that promotes lap dances in neon lighting you end up in a pretty awesome bar. We only heard later that it's actually... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
