Lovely room, nice staff. Went to the bar first which even by Mayfair standards was extraordinarily expensive. 4 nice enough cocktails at £73...... The food was the usual bog standard Michelin suspects. Scallops on risotto were well executed but....just bland....and I wondered why they had bothered with this combination. Husbands raviolo was totally delicious and came in a superlative langoustine... More

A very last minute decision for a late birthday lunch, as a bout of the hacking cough that has hit most people this Christmas left us having to cancel a booking elsewhere. We were planning to eat from the carte as it was a birthday meal, but I decided that the lamb on the lunch menu was what I actually... More

Wonderful restaurant hidden inside the Westbury Hotel. Charming staff, well placed tables, calm atmosphere. We stayed as long as we wanted - table booked for 1pm and we left at 4pm. Great food, and even from the surprise lunch menu the food tasted fresh and just made. No conveyer belt cooking! Set lunch menu good value, long wine list and... More

We went with friends for my birthday lunch between Xmas and New Year. We were sat at a lovely privately situated table and the service we received throughout was superb. It was our first time at Alyn Williams although I am sure we have eaten his food before when we were ate at The Berkeley a few years back. His... More

My husband took me to Alyn Williams for my birthday in December and we had a fantastic meal! Initially we were slightly unhappy with our table but the staff moved us straight away with no issues. I did feel the hotel and restaurant looked a little 'tired' but the food certainly made up for this!! We thoroughly enjoyed every course... More

Our New Year's Eve dinner at Alyn Williams was absolutely amazing - this was one of the best Michelin star experiences we have had, and the place deserves a second star for sure! It started with canapés, then an amuse of a curried vichyssoise with smoked eel. First app was maybe the best foie gras I've ever had - served... More

Futrther to seeing Alyn Williams on Masterchef and my daughter having enjoyed a very good meal here previously, I was looking forward to a pre Christmas lunch at this restaurant on the 23rd December. However The service was painfully slow and the main course was cold even though we had waited 40 minutes for it! To top it all, as... More

In London on business on my birthday, so thought I'd treat myself to lunch and Alyn Williams at the Westbury was a venue I'd never been to and offering a lunch special of 3 courses (actually 4 with the amuse and a glass of prosecco) for (I think) £35. This seemed fine value at the level of cooking. The welcome... More

Having seen Alyn Williams on Mast Chef thought why not have a set menu lunch -we were not disappointed but everything was a surprise as no details were given. An interesting concept but I like to be surprised by excellent cooking. The star of the show was the starter of creamy risotto with scallops - mind blowing. The lamb was extremely... More

We had a lovely seven course meal in the private dining room area for my sisters birthday, the service was great, I liked the fact that the chefs of each course came to the table to tell us what we were eating. The food was nice although not all of it was quite to my taste. The wines were also... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
