OK so we went for an early meal at 5pm to let the traffic out of town die down and they we open for business which was good. Although there were a huge amount of tables and the décor was modern and of the highest quality there was not much character in an area where there is a tremendous choice... More

The ambience of 34 Mayfair is actually quite similar to a few of the restaurants in the area and rather similar to the Savoy Grill. However the Japanese fusion twist is novel and the Wagyu steak for basically £100 excluding sides is intriguing. The service is attentive and there are staff everywhere, it was somewhat chaotic compared to the super... More

The first wow for ambience, the 2nd wow for the service , the 3rd wow for the extremely ,delicious food , the three of us had the steak tartar, scallops and the ravioli pasta, all very nice, then the fillet steak melts in my mouth , the Indian spiced Sea bass was full of flavor the hamburger was one of... Another great address in Mayfair, this restaurant is the sister restaurant ( meat version) of Scott's , so there is the same fil rouge and nothing can go wrong. Get your bottle of Tignanello, a chateaubriand to share , and you will spend the most peaceful and charming evening of your life with your special someone. Service, as per Scott's... More

Visited at the end of December. Lovely Christmas decorations outside the restaurant. Friendly staff. I ordered the Indonesian spiced beef and king prawn skewers with a side order of mashed potatoes. It was very tasty. We were recommended the Gavi di Gavi which didn't disappoint.

Visited last week in the early evening. The welcome, service and people were excellent! The restaurant filled up fast and is obviously popular with Americans from the embassy. The Sashimi starter was impeccable and the steaks were just outstanding. Only slight niggle was over cooked fries but other than that an outstanding meal. Don't miss it!

Sunday Lunch here was very pleasant as it's a nice well lit room with character and interesting background music . There is a Brunch menu but also a Sunday Roast . The service was slow and disjointed - it took a long time for my drink to arrive and when I asked a passing waiter he shrugged and said no... More

This place offers a great selection on their menu but I would focus on their prime meats which is what it's known for . We loved the experience and had a superb meal with superb attentive service.

Description
Located just off Grosvenor Square (entrance on South Audley Street) in the heart of Mayfair, 34 has become a modern-day classic since it opened in November 2011. Burned orange banquettes, oak parquet and a colourful contemporary art collection give the room a warm and inviting look, highlighted by the bespoke charcoal grill in the open kitchen. The grill, also known as a parrilla and fed by natural fuels, was custom-made and imported from Argentina.
Head Chef, Harvey Ayliffe has developed an eclectic menu, using the grill not only for beef, but also for seasonal game, fish and shellfish. "Lobster mac" is a perennial favourite, and there is a wide variety of salads and lighter dishes for the less carnivorous diners.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
