Friday lunch is always spent with friends. Sometimes we eat sometimes not. On this occasion I just wanted a drink but two others wanted to eat and as it was sunny we decided on the Emperor, which is only a short walk from work. We found a table but it was inside the open veranda area, which unfortunately people are... More

This wonderful restaurant and pub is neatly tucked away in the suburb neighborhood of London. The staff is very nice and helpful, and the food is wonderful. The atmosphere reminiscent of a log cabin experience in a sport coat and cocktail dress. Very mature crowd and fierce locals frequent this restaurant as should you!

Through a friend of mine who has worked in the area for years I was first introduced to The Emperor over ten years ago. A couple of years ago I changed jobs and now work near by so when we say: '...I'll see you in five minutes...', we mean that we'll see each other in The Emperor. The service is... More

We order takeaway from this restaurant once a week. Food is always so yummy and they always deliver in the hour if not sooner, sometimes in 25 minutes! Food is always fresh and they give generous popodums and dips for free :)

I visited this venue for lunch with a colleague and it was very pleasant - nothing extraordinary but clean and tidy with good service. I ordered a toasted sandwich which came quickly and was hot and tasty. The waitress was very nice and friendly. It wasn't very busy but to be fair it was a Monday lunchtime. There was a... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
