The restaurant has very a very traditional appearance, but the quality of food here is quite up to date. The two rooms actually have a different feel. Victorian Booths in one, Bistro-like tables & chairs in the other. The small plates have quite a European...More

We came in a group to eat dinner here. It was an old restaurant, full of character. The menu was interesting, slight French bistro feel. We had delicious bread with raw butter to snack on. The cod roe was amazing too! For starter, I had...More

The food here was excellent - the menu was well put together and the starters were to die for. From the very start we were made very welcome and the service was fabulous. We tried several dishes between the three of us and we were...More

The table for 6 was a bit of a squeeze for 5 and with narrow bench seats I felt quite uncomfortable by the end of dinner. in the meantime we'd all stuffed ourselves with some pretty good dishes that had great meat as a a...More

Essentially, our main course took over 2 hours to arrive , and in total we spent over 3 hours in the restaurant. The food was excellent, however, when we pointed out to the manager that we had waited over 2 hours for our mains ,...More

Enjoy a fun restaurant with a great, olde tyme vibe. Everything from the wine, service, and food - along with the atmosphere - is great. We tried grilled asparagus, greens, fish, rib eye, and a burger. Each was perfectly prepared. Big thumbs up.

Not sure what I was expecting quite frankly. I liked the "back in time" decor, though having front and center views of the modern kitchen ruined it slightly. Chairs a bit uncomfortable but I believe there's a historical reason for it. As for the food,...More

Really enjoyed my meal at The Quality Chop House. Got a chef special lamb that was very good. Wine was good, service even better. I'd say go here if you want a pretty fancy dining experience for a fair price.

Description
The Quality Chop House has a long history as a provider of hospitality. Once a working men’s ‘eating house’ it offered nourishment and respite for the weary. It is in this spirit that we’d like to welcome you back through our doors. We are now offering three different dining experiences in surroundings reflecting the beauty and history of The Quality Chop House. The first is our Dining Room, For lunch the menu is simple, small and set. For dinner, we want to feed you. Give us your coat, pull up a pew (quite literally) and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll be offering a 5 course set menu, a progressive feast of our favourite things. You can pick the bottle (but we’ll have some magnums open to pour you a glass while deciding). Our Wine bar & Shop is open all day for on- and off-premises enjoyment. Our wines are fine but our prices are fair. A hand-picked selection from some serious cellars without the serious price tag. And we’ll have charcuterie, cheese and smaller plates on hand too. For tastings, feastings and meetings we offer our Upstairs - A private room for up to 10 people.
