This is a great place for lunch, the food is always excellent and the staff were very attentive. I have a discount card which gives 50%, so makes it good value.

Enjoyed a birthday lunch while staying at the hotel for my husbands birthday & theatre trip. Set menu was to die for - especially the squid starter. Very friendly staff & great service, thank you.

We ordered the Dim Sum platter and while it tasted good it for sure wasn't worth the £18 we paid for it. We got 8 Dim sum. Service good as always.

Came here for dinner on Friday night, as friends had purchased a Virgin Experience for my partner and me, which was for a 3 course meal. The restaurant is easy to find (directly across the road from Blackfriars station) and is very bright and clean with a slightly bland décor (bare tables - no tablecloths - a few cricket memorabilia... The dishes didn't have much oil like typical Chinese food. However it is quite tasty for each of dishes we ordered. The portion is a bit small though. With discount card 50% off, can't have any complaint but very satisfied

This is a largish venue on the ground floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It is very comfortable space and the ambiance is good. The menu has a good selection of items at different levels of spices. All the dishes were very good although some were not really as spicy as they might have been. Ok overall. Recommended.

I discovered the Chinese Cricket Club while looking for a restaurant near Saint Paul's Cathedral. What a nice find! It is set in a hotel/business, so the entry way is nothing special, and the room, while very nicely appointed, is pretty simple. The food, however, is absolutely what maes this place worth checking out. There is a wide array of... More

We (4 colleagues and me) were looking for somewhere to eat following a meeting that closed earlier than planned, a quick search on TA, and we decided upon The Chinese Cricket Club. Disappointed we were not. Good service greeted us, despite it being a Friday night and we did not have a booking. and continued throughout the meal. We went... More

High quality Chinese restaurant in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza. Nice menu and good quality. Service is good. Not overpriced considering location and quality. I recommend it.

Not sure of the relevance of 'Chinese Cricket Club'; there's some cricket stuff on the wall and some Chinese themed décor, but they aren't really linked. A bit contrived. Breakfast was good though.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
