I had been commuted to Dil Chad since 1982 and never disappointed on their friendly good service and food. After 6 months absent I made a journey to Dil Chad last week and what I found was closed door. Please please Dil Chad, open the door! We love you

I'd eaten here a while ago so knew it fitted the bill for being good food and close to Liverpool St Station. After a long walk we found it to be closed for refurbishment. If only some technology was available, such as the world wide web, to inform customers of the inconvenience to their dining arrangements.

Had not been here for at least a decade, so we decided to visit to relive old times. Although we were not disappointed with the food, it did not offer anything special over and above the normal Indian restaurant fare. Service was also rather mediocre. They clearly have many City types coming in after a few drinks in the evening... More

Cold plates which we requested to be changed. Waiter seemed irritated at this request. Plates came back tepid. The explanation for the cold plates was the weather conditions! No hot plates to keep your food warm so you need to eat fast before the food becomes cold. Service slow after the prompt delivery of poppadoms. Took ages to place initial... More

Had a really good curry here with work colleagues. Staff good, Food was a toxin livelier than all of us expected though so maybe go down a level that you are used to! Cobra excellent as always.

The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The curries were very nice and the portion sizes very large although maybe a little too much oil for me to manage. A pleasant ambient atmosphere. A great overall dining experience.

Ate here after an absence of several years and was not disappointed. Good curry house food at competitive prices with excellent service. Very busy as it's just a stones throw from Liverpool St station and several good pubs. Perfect!

The food was OK, decent poppadoms and starter but the Madras Main Course was very greasy and a puddle of grease was left on the plate by the time I had finished. 5 stars for the starter but 1 for the Main Course. Reasonable price for a restaurant in the heart of London

We were round the corner and wanted some food. Met a client in the bar who suggested the Dil Chad. We all walked round and booked a table for 10 in about half an hour. The service was good, the food and service fine,

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
