I came with my family for lunch to celebrate my birthday after a morning of busy shopping on a busy Saturday. We had an amazing lobster spaguetti and my dad had the seabass, both were lovely but the best part which made all the difference was our waiter Matthew, he made our afternoon really special and made us laugh and... Shopping with family in Selfridges and sought out this lovely restaurant for a peaceful solo lunch while they shopped. Had a delicious superfood salad with chicken. The chicken was very tender and tasty and the service impeccable and quick. Finished with a fruit salad which was equally good and would definitely return. My son and his friend, meanwhile, spent the... More

I have taken as a tradition to never visit London without a visit to Aubaine to eat their outstanding Lobster Pasta. The restaurant is difficult to find (second floor of Selfridges, behind the shoe department) but well worth the effort. A tip: even if it sometimes is not visible on the menu you can order it anyway.

We have had a coffee and a piece of lemon cake here. Coffee is very good (like a coffee should be!) Cake was fresh and very tasty. Staff is friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. An 'additional' 12,5% is added to the bill. Seems to be typical around these 'upper class' places to add a default 12,5% service.... More

Came here for a special Christmas Eve breakfast, but was left slightly disappointed by the service and food. As a waitress myself, I was slightly bemused to see the staff on their phones in front of customers, wandering around aimlessly, drinking coffees and having a gossip. I'm all for a bit of relaxation but felt out of place in what... More

I came here for a quick bite and a drink before shopping. It's also a little bit difficult to find (being nestled in the depths of the Selfridges shoe department). I ordered a hot chocolate and pain au chocolat and found it to be quite average--it didn't taste that nice and the pain au chocolat wasn't warm. When I came... More

I've stopped in this restaurant three or four times and this week I needed to rest until it got dark to see the lights on Oxford Street. I was only going to have a pot of tea but they were still serving lunch so I decided to order the soup du jour. This week it was parsnip soup served with... More

First and last visit to this establishment I'm afraid. During a nice day out shopping, we made an unplanned visit to Aubaine for a quick bite. We were greeted well enough and shown to our table..where we then waited 15 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. We then ordered our food which took another 20-25 minutes to... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
