Saturday evening/night anywhere in London is going to be busy, and here is no exception, the place was packed and it was only early evening on a Saturday Night. Both my wife and myself went in for something to eat and partake in a couple of drinks. On entering we were faced with a sea of faces and plenty of... More

Simple menu, good value, prompt service. Opens early in the morning. Good if you are looking for a meal at a good price, nothing fancy.

Nice views - overlooking Tower Hill and the Tower of London. Walking distance (100m) from the Tower of London ticket office. Plenty of seating (upstairs and downstairs). Food good - could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly, but it was busy so not surprising.

We needed some nosh before a sunday night gig at The Empire. I had experience of Wetherspoons elsewhere so I knew this would fit the bill. To my surprise and delight the price of drinks and food was the same as anywhere else in the UK......I expected London prices so this was a good start. I had the rarebit burger... More

Service is under minimum expectations Food is being made by oven and not grill. Do not order Asparagus or Burgers. No proper knifes to cut properly, shamefull One of the managers refunded both meals and gave 10% off the bill due to the overall expectations.

Went for breakfast and got exactly what we expected, average quality at very good value. However, serving food on cold plates is really disappointing as half the food is cold before it gets to you. No problems with service and the environment.

loads of originality about the building with a staffed bar upstairs will views over the tower and the bridge pricier than other wetherspoon but you have to take into account the location

We came here after visiting The Tower of London as its just over the road. It was packed but we were still able to get a table. Its a nice, old fashioned style pub with fires and dark wood. The food is the usual Weatherspoons fare. I had a burger which actually didn't taste or feel cooked but it was... More

Typical Wetherspoons - good value drinks and good value food with quick and efficient service. Close to a number of hotels and major London landmarks

We visited here last week and managed to find a table because the pub was so crowded. We had the steak and Ale pies , fish and chips and mixed grills. The food was excellent and great value for money. The food was cooked well and was delicious. You can always rely on a Wetherspoons for a decent and tasty... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
