We had a one night stay in London and hadn't booked anywhere for dinner. After walking around the area for a while we liked the look of The Folly from the outside. We weren't disappointed when we entered, such a vibrant lively atmosphere. We decided to enquire if there was any tables free and were told that if we didn't... More

Came here for a few drinks and dinner. The service was very pleasant and the food was exceptionally tasty for the price. Well worth a visit.

Thursday night drinks with a friend. No seats and those that were free had been reserved. We sat in one anyway and were told they were reserved and asked to move. We stayed there and asked them to come and tell us when the guests that had reserved the table arrived. An hour after they were due we were still... More

Had dinner last night. Really noisy so even on a table for 4 you had to shout to be heard. Food was also below par - wagu burger just came how they wanted to serve it which was slightly cremated. Staff also overly keen to get you out the door and release table. Wouldn't go again anytime soon. Much better... More

There was a group of 6 of us for lunch and drinks and when we first walked in we were impressed by the cool decor and funky interior. The Cocktails were nice and pretty reasonable. The food wasn't really up to much, the chicken in the sandwich was very dry and the steak in the steak sandwich was as tough... More

We can to dine on Sunday morning for Breakfast. First of all the food was very nice. However the service of our waiter really let them down. We were seated very quickly friendly and efficiently and we were given water straight away by a very amiable chap. However our waiter just was not interested. He was sullen and standoffish. We... We have never heard about the Folly and got there by chance on Saturday afternoon. It was a delightful find! The place is spacious, well decorated and has the amazing cosmopolitan buzz about it. It is not a place to have a gourmand meal but our food was good, very reasonably priced and I voted my crème brulee the best... More

We visited on a Friday night and even though it was busy the staff are so welcoming and the service is great. We didn't have a table booked but that was no problem, Sayid found us an area and quickly took our drinks order. Great atmosphere and amazing staff makes for a brilliant night out in the City. Visited last Friday for an anniversary meal with my husband. I had booked a table in advance. We were given complimentary glasses of Prosecco for our anniversary when we arrived which was rather nice and thoughtful. The food was delicious, especially the Prawn cocktail sticks I had as a starter. The atmosphere was wonderful too. Great music played by a... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
