Tuna tartar starter was tasty, as was the mushroom risotto but other dishes were fairly bland. Service started well but they seemed to lose interest as the restaurant got busier. The table layout for 3 people was a bit odd. Nothing bad to say about this restaurant but nothing great either.

Looking for somewhere to eat before going to the theatre, we virtually stumbled upon Assaggetti. Although the food we had was quite simple, it was especially gratifying to find a place that obviously took pride in doing simple things very well. The restaurant was very busy, yet the staff were very nice and wonderfully attentive. The next time we go... More

Booked as part of a theatre ticket deal for £15 for 2 courses per head. In this area, we weren't expecting much for so little money, but it was so convenient to not have to find somewhere to eat pre-show. It was described as "tapas" menu on our ticket. We had starter and mains which admittedly were small, but very... More

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and , being Italian, were able to appreciate the pasta cooked "al dente" Italian style. Would certainly go there again.

They were very welcoming seeing as we had "not booked " Staff not bad but seemed a little over worked and tired and also very forgetful as a result as we got over charged !! and did not get our two courses for £17 as it was promoted but whip out the phone and they had overcharged by , yes... More

Staff were so rude from door to bill. Even had the audacity to try suggest that we hadn't paid the whole bill, this being the supposedly "discretional" 12.5% service charge. Food was decent but the staff's attitude put a sour taste in our mouths.

I found this restaurant with a friend of mine, last year. I ate a spectacular pizza and a nice wine! I was really happy, for this reason I returned a few days ago..I must say that nothing has changed at all! Even better now! I tasted several dishes: lovely tagliata, wine (the best!) and some appetizers. Very very yummy! I'm... More

Having flown back from a weekend in rome we managed to go to a local theatre to see a show. After, we wandered past and were hungry so popped in. It was 10.30. We were seated and served by the most surly miserable waitress you can imagine. Now if you don't want to serve people at that time just don't... More

Visited this establishment with my wife before catching a train from Charing x I so wished we crossed haymarket rd and enjoyed an alternative venue. We were both hungry after work and thought it looked nice, after checking the prices we entered. Although the prices seemed reasonable we discovered that the portions were very small. For an Italian pizza/spaghettini house.... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
