The view is fab but you need to book to use the roof bar in advance at peak times. The cocktails were crazy expensive even for London. A champagne cocktail was £12 a glass where you can get happy hours for half the price in other bars that are just as good. I guess you pay for the view!

Poor customer service. Condescending and patronising. Lied to us as they claimed the vista bar was full. It wasn't. Refused to serve my friend as we "didn't look right". Awful pretentious staff there- I eat at Michelin starred restaurants regularly and yet I have never felt so belittled. Don't judge a book by its cover!

We stayed at The Trafalgar Hotel while in London recently so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a drink at the rooftop restaurant. There were 6 of us who met up for cocktails and a bite to eat and weren't disappointed. Although we were there in October, I believe we were still on the summer menu. I tried... More

This place has lovely drinks and decent food. However, the main attraction is the view. As trafalgar sq is one of my favourite places in London I completely fell in love with the Vista bar.

Came for drink in the rooftop bar overlooking Trafalgar Square, as we did the same last summer. Has become very expensive (cheapest white wine is £46 a bottle including compulsory service charge), and not great wine for the price. Food coming out also looked very average compared to previous year, so we didn't bother. Wont return

I took my parents here for their wedding anniversary. It was amazing, the views are just spectacular and the service brilliant. We all had the hot cider and sangrias which were delicious. It was quite a chilly night but they had heaters and blankets which were perfect. We stayed for about an hour and a half any longer and were... More

Popped in for a Pimms on a very sunny day with some friends from Ireland! Great spot, views were perfect (weather helped) and was a nice trendy bar! Would recommended for small groups or couples!

The main attraction of this rooftop bar is the view... but on arriving Sunday, we couldn't access the side of the bar with the view as it was closed for filming (American Wheel of Fortune). This wasn't mentioned when we arrived downstairs in the hotel..... the drinks are a little overpriced, but when you have the view it's worth it.... More

Rude staff, seemed uninterested. One couldn't even speak English or understand what I was trying to say. No Shiraz, wine ordered tasted watered down. Waiter spilt a drink on us and didn't even seem to care. Stupidly expensive for service and drinks.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
