This place leaves me in two minds. The food, the ingredients and cooking are excellent tasty and clever. The ambience is noisy, but comfortable- although some of the tables are too close together for our liking. This isn't the place for a quiet romantic dinner....More

We chose this restaurant for our work Christmas meal and we had a lovely experience, there was 8 of us and there wasn't one complaint about the food, everything was amazing. The only thing I would say that needs a lot of improvement is the...More

It is the second time that I have lunched at the Gilbert Scott in the Renaissance Hotel and it was again a wonderful experience. The food is exquisite and the service charming and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I can't make up my mind about this place, it had elements that I liked yet something nagging me about it. I've given it four stars as possibly the food deserved it, Dover sole wonderfully cooked, yet the ambience and the service I think let...More

We returned after a few years to sample the best of the Gilbert Scott and were not disappointed. The crab and fennel starter was fresh and well judged. I had the slow roast lamb rump and braised lamb leg - absolutely beautiful. My colleague had...More

We have just finished a fantastic Sunday roast at the Gilbert Scott with some amazing wine recommended by the very friendly sommelier. The renaissance architecture and design are second to none and the service is very welcoming. Our only (small) criticisms are the serrated steak...More

Service and food was very good but desserts are even better. If you are staying at the hotel (Renaissance St Pancras) is very convinient since you don’t have to go out of the hotel.

About the worst high end restaurant I have been to. Food was very poor. I am vegan and my colleagues are all confirmed carnivores. This is ok but I would like more options other than horrid pasta. No imagination from this so called to chef....More

Some of the best food in London. Truly excellent. Such a shame then when one of our party clearly asked for a dish to be served without nuts as she was allergic, and the dish came with peanut puree on it, partly concealed under salad...More

Everything is perfect, from the cocktails, the snacks and the dinner we had in the main dining room, we had amazing time. Cocktails are very tasty and very well prepared, the plates are also great (especially the duck & the mac & cheese).

I'm not sure, I didn't see any children there and I don't think they cater for children specifically. Personally I think the atmosphere is quite formal so not particularly children friendly but it's only an opinion.

They do cater for vegetarians - best thing to do would be to go in to their websites and view the menu to see the options.
