Discovered by chance , top enthusiastic service by very friendly bar and service staff who look like they enjoy working there . Would say the drinks are expensive but it's all about the show and the alchemy and so two people two cocktails each plus olives and a service charge £60 . Take a bar seat and watch the bar... More

This place was made for intimate or private occasions. Beautifully decorated with ambient lighting (although a bit dark in places). There's no standing allowed so you'll always have your own table (of sorts) and booking is advisable because once all the tables are gone there's no entry. Great home made cocktail list, I didn't recognise any of them but the... More

We visited in October. It wasn't what I had expected and definitely isn't one of the best speakeasies in London. Firstly I was shocked that they would charge so much for such tiny drinks. One of my drinks must have been less than 50ml and lasted me about 5 mins, yet it cost £12. Not very good. The drinks are... More

Purl was fun to visit. It was more of a dark bar with small areas to sit. The serves and bartenders were friendly and efficient. The cream cheese filled peppers are outstanding. The cocktails were different but I should have stayed with more traditional ones. I am glad I tried Purl but would not go out of my way to... More

We came here for a friends birthday on Sat 8th Oct. We were greeted by the friendly bouncer who found us on his booking form and sent us down into Purl. We were made welcom by a smart guy in a bowler hat and braces, the place was very cool...he showed us to our table and explained our server would... More

I have never been so shocked in my life!! As much as I have heard that the drinks there are superb, I must say that I wasn't even allowed to stay long enough to even try one!! Yesterday was my friend's 19th birthday and I (being a bartender) wanted to take him to a place where, as far as I... More

This is a great little bar. Nice décor and understated Good cocktails and service was quick and efficient. Guessing later in the evening you would need a reservation. Will certainly return.

Fun, speak-easy themed bar. The cocktails were as fun to watch being made as they were enjoyable to drink.

Managed to grab the last spare table, this place gets busy so booking recommended. Cocktails were good but at £15ish a drink, they should be!

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
