First of all, Kiefer Sutherland who happens to be one of my favourite actors ( see him in the amazing Designated Survivor !) should not be reviewing Indian restaurants. I read the reviews in TA, both positive and negative and was hoping for a good meal. This is a tiny restaurant, but well mantained and very clean. Seems to be... More

Terrible food, poor service and very expensive, that's all I can say really. Oily food, no flavour and just generally very bland

You were situated in Mayfair, the most expensive location of the UK therefore you should be knowledgeable to understand the price of anything in this area is not the same anywhere else. In fact the restaurant is one of the cheapest cuisines in the area, please have a stroll around our neighbor cuisines and view their prices before making absurd... More

What a wonderful place! We were strolling around Shepherd's Market trying to decide on a spot for dinner...saw the cute article in the window of New Taj Mahal...Kiefer Sutherland highly recommended it! The food was delicious and we loved our waiter! We were visiting from Texas and he gave us several suggestions for spots to visit! Really enjoyed everything about... More

We were here last year by coincidence while we were walking from green Park to Hyde Park. At the first look it's really small and not really invitingly like the whole street. There is only space for around 10 people. The Owner ist very friendly and the food is really delicious. So we came back today with the whole family.... More

Stumbled across this place and thought we would give it a try. It's small..20 covers and a tiny loo but the food was good, reasonably authentic and wasn't expensive and the service, while a little abrupt was fine. Can't ask much more than that in an area which has some super expensive places to eat and drink.

Well there I was with a group of Swedish friends in Grosvenor Square looking for somewhere interesting to eat. Shepherds Market was a favourite area of theirs and so we headed in that direction. On previous occasions they'd been to the larger restaurants and whilst walking around we came upon this restaurant which looked interesting. Indeed, you descend the steps... More

Despite the mixed reviews this was the closest Indian restaurant to our apartment. And we did not have the same experience as others. The food was good and the service friendly and efficient. I am not sure how such a small place with a probably small kitchen manages, but we enjoyed our experience.

We rarely write reviews but just had to! Appalling service, had to ask for everything, got the order wrong and when we complained they refused to serve us. How this place (can't call it a restaurant) survives in Mayfair is a miracle. Please under no circumstances come here!

Thank you for your falsified review for the restaurant. You and your colleague attended the restaurant intoxicated from alcohol, drank a whole bottle of wine then refused to pay. We do not tolerate abuse or any inconsiderate manner to be shown to our staff. More

Well it was big disappointment, their curry don't seems to have any taste. I had chicken tikka masala rice and a peshwari nan. Was not good. My partner also had tandoori mix grill which was average. This is not Indian food. They don't seems to bother with customer service.

The restaurant has been successfully running business in Mayfair for over 25 years. This would not be possible if the quality of food and service was not up to standard. All meals are ensured they are up to head chef standard before being served to customers. More

A tiny restaurant with max seating of 20 across 7 tables. Very cosy. Most diners were single business men so comfortable if solo and male ! Food average although thought the prawn purée was good. Very limited drinks choice (limited by size of place I guess) Overall inexpensive and pleasant experience.

Neighbourhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
