What a shame as I was looking forward to dining at Vasco & Piero but it was such a fast experience it's hard to say much. We were politely but hurriedly pushed into ordering and when I asked for a few minutes the waiter stood awkwardly waiting for me to choose something. Our main meal of pasta came within a... More

For the last 3 years we have had an early Xmas lunch at this restaurant in a party of 4. In fairness I struggle to record any negatives whatsoever with this venue as the staff food & service is all top drawer. In a city full of eating places this is truly a little pearl

When I worked in London, on a regular basis, this was my favourite restaurant. It has become my youngest son's favourite since. We ate with a large party to mark my son's 40th birthday - in the downstairs private dining room and with a set menu. A brilliant experience - the same excellent service, super food and some good Italian... More

I have been dining at this restaurant for the last five years and it never disappoints. Look out for the Umbrian wines, a speciality of the restaurant. A warm welcome, fabulously fresh food, great wine. What more could you ask for? I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Fresh food from Umbria in the centre of London. Everything is fresh and home made. Very nice staff who make you feel at home.

We have been eating at the Pavilion for over 20 years and I have reviewed them before. But here is a thought...if you have Italian friends visiting where do you take them for dinner? Last night was one such occasion with visitors from Umbria (the home of Vasco, the founder of the restaurant who you will often find in the... More

I took my sisters after a matinee for an early evening meal. Vasco & Piero's was highly rated so perhaps my expectations were too high. My Cured Ham from Umbria could have been out of a packet from Lidl's. The Vongole was off so I went straight to mains. Why the waiter asked how would I like my strips of... More

We dined here as four people, two colleagues and two visiting guests, and none of us could have left the restaurant more impressed. It's a very unassuming restaurant tucked away on Poland Street, and I'll confess I have walked past it probably hundreds of times over the years and never noticed it. But then, isn't this the case with so... More

This wonderful restaurant deserves the highest accolades. I was taken there by friends for my birthday last night. To say the least, we were treated like royalty....the staff were attentive, polite and knowledgable, and the utterluy delightful food was almost beyond words. We left the choices to the owner, Vasco,a charming Italian gentleman, and we enjoyed the best selection of... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
