Well after the reviews and visiting a Hawksmoor in Edinburgh, expectations were high! However we were let down! We had to wait 15 minutes for our table, the woman on reception was quite rude, the tables are crammed on top of eachother so you can...barely hear your own conversation! The service was okay, not great though especially for the amount of money you pay! And the food was warm not hot! 3 of us ordered the macaroni side dish served in a cast iron dish.... We could pick this up and not burn our fingers! Wouldn't return!More

Visited here for Sunday roast last weekend. All of us agreed it was the best roast dinner we had ever eaten. I would eat here every Sunday if I could. Superb friendly and attentive service and amazing food.

I visited the Hawksmoor after seeing the Mama Mia stage production on 6th April. It was the first time that I had visited there and was on the recommendation of a friend whom accompanied me. My fellow diner ordered a 650gm sirloin steak and I...the 450gm ribeye. Our anticipation was high based on the reviews we had read. But unfortunately, the reality fell far short of our expectations, particularly in view of the prices charged. Our steaks were hard, dry and with little taste. Mine went down in lumps. On the positive side, the service was friendly. I will not be returning.More

If you want to see how good steak and chips can really be, come here. Everything from the starters, the steaks, the sides and the desserts are faultless. Expensive but worth it. We are a foody family and we cook a lot. We tend to...dissect everything we are served and discuss what we would change/add to improve it. We dined here on Saturday last and it was a very short conversation!More

Most overrated place ever. We went there for our anniversary and it was not good. Service was poor, steaks were both overcooked. We had outstanding service every other place we went in London that week with this exception. Server was terrible and bordered on rude....At the end we ordered some wine for after dinner, he took the order and then never brought it. So he is bad for the business as well.More

Really disappointed to be honest. Food was good as usual but we arrived at 6pm and didn’t get any food until 7.15pm. Waiter brushed it off as to be expected when they’re busy but considering they had to extend the table booking to allow us...to finish the meal I find this very unlikely. Plus, I have been before and not experienced this. Offered 1 free desert as an apology. When spending over £200 it’s a drop in the ocean and I really just wanted to come out for a nice dinner not have to chase up my food and wonder if I was ever going to eat that night.More

Lovely steak, lovely staff....very expensive! Recommend having the Yorkshire pudding starter and one of the big cut steaks, the meat quality is superb.

Food as usual was pretty good but the service on this occasion was below average at best, our server wasn’t particularly attentive and had to be chased up on more than one occasion, not great when you are paying well over £100 per head.

My mother and I came here for lunch on a Monday in March 2024. The restaurant is in a very tastefully decorated basement in Seven Dials, with a soft and unintrusive atmosphere. When we arrived at 12:45 the dining room was pretty empty but by...the time we left at 2:15 it was starting to fill up, mainly with businessmen on work lunches. Perhaps because the restaurant wasn't full, the staff were very attentive throughout. Our food was very good. I had the beefsteak pudding which was delicious, while my mum had a flat iron steak that she equally enjoyed. I wasn't drinking but my mother enjoyed her champagne cocktail and her glass of red wine taken from the very extensive wine list. If we hadn't been pressed for time we would have sampled the dessert menu, as it looked equally good. I will certainly be returning.More

Experience felt more like a casual dining venue without the casual prices. Steaks were good but sides were very small, beer served in cans, sauces served in stainless steel jugs, all a bit rough and ready for the price.

I came with great expectations, and within my first bite, they were exceeded! Upon being shown to my table, I was greeted by a very friendly waiter, who first took my drink order and then proceeded to help me with my selection of meat. I...was torn on whether I should go for a ribeye or a filet, and ultimately I was advised that the ribeye was the perfect cut for me, so I opted for a 400-gram ribeye. Now, I am normally wary of ordering ribeye because I tend to get a lot of unrefined fat in them, making what is normally a tasty and large cut into a not-great cut with little edible meat on it, but not this time; it was juicy and full of flavours, with minimal amounts of unrefined fat, and just an all-around perfect steak! The beef tallow-dipped chips—oh, the chips—were everything I hoped for and then some more, so crips and fluffy—it way exceeded any hopes I could ever have mustered beforehand! And then came the peppercorn sauce and the mash & gravy. Oh my word, how delicious everything was—just the perfect opulent steak dinner. There is literally nothing about this dining experience that could have been better; it is truly something I will never forget!More
