Apparently they source some of their wine list from collectors. That means it can have some eclectic bottles on it and can vary from visit to visit. The wines we had were excellent. The appetizers also very delicious. Nice atmosphere. I enjoyed a very rare colheita port for dessert. My complaint was that my steak was rather undercooked. Yes, I... More

Visited a week ago in a hurry at 1330 and they had difficulty in delivering food quickly despite few customers. Bread was stale but when I asked for it to be replaced I was given toast! Despite this I returned yesterday with plenty of time and experienced top smiling service from the polite and amiable staff. Very tasty goose terrine... More

Surprise location found by my son who lives in London. Not visible from the street you need to go down several flights of stairs - but well worth the effort. Really good food and that is a compliment as I live in Brussels and we are in food heaven there. I had cod with butternut puree and Kohlrabi , my... More

I went here on a business meeting for lunch. The feel of the restaurant was very cosy and as you would expect had a great wine list. Yes the menu was small but it didn't matter as I thought it was well thought out and beautifully presented and very tasty. The service and food was fairly quick as well which... More

We had one night in London and wanted to experience the wine bar scene. Walked to 28-50 Fetter from our hotel. Very low key and enjoyable tasting menu. Would be difficult for anyone with walking problems to get down to the seating area as there was no lift. As visitors on a Tuesday night we noticed the place had a... More

The atmosphere is good in this underground restaurant. It has an interesting, but slightly expensive wine list and the Sommelier is very good. The other staff were also friendly and helpful. However the menu is limited and the steaks we had were tough. An OK place that could be better

Popped in with a party of five and no reservation. Fortunately, it was a bit early, and the staff was very accommodating in finding a spot for us. Original intent was to have a glass of wine and move on. Turned out, three bottles of wine, a full meal, and dessert later, that we would enjoy a great evening at... More

We tried this on a lark and were thoroughly pleased! Doesnt look like anything unique from the road, but as you descend stairs you know the place will be interesting. A lively crowd on a Thursday lunchtime -- the local officeworkers know it well. This is TOTALLY a wine place; prepare to spend some pounds and also be well-pleased with... More

This is a pleasant restaurant with great food and wine. Food includes appetizers, decent mains and tasty desserts -- all were competently prepared although none were especially imaginative We also liked all the sides that we ordered to accompany the mains. The wine list is full of interesting choices at (for London) fair prices: you can buy 75, 125, 250... More

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
