Our sons, who live in London, are long time fans of the Regency Cafe and thought it would be an ideal place to kick off my birthday weekend treat. Yes, you will have to queue and you may get anxious as to whether you will get a table once you have ordered but it all seems to work out, so... More

Ok first things first I am not knocking the heritage of this place, the concept of a quality greasy spoon, or the staff here. In fact I love all three. It is great that this place is such an institution, has been here so long, and is patronised by many famous people, as well as its film credits. And the... More

I dont mind the queueing, the cash-only system, the quality of the seating or the self-service ordering system. I have been to places in Chinatown which make this place seem like the poshest restaurant in London. However, I must have gone on a bad day and the food is not usually as bland and flavourless as it was. Everyone else... More

So glad we came straight here off our overnight coach from Germany! Great value and very quick service. Only very small problem was lack of veggie breakie option for my daughter although she was happy to have a cheese pasty and chips at 09:30!

What a great place, the service is efficient and jovial, the guy behind the counter will remember your name even as you're walking out the door. The full English is one of the best I've had, the tea and coffee is the proper stuff, and you can walk out full with plenty of change in your pocket.

Just love this place. It is a MUST on every trip I make to London. English breakfast at its best. Tea as it should be! Do-not go here if you are looking for upscale comfort, this is the British equivalent of an American breakfast diner! Have the steamed pudding with custard!

Walking around the neighborhood looking for a place that just served good breakfast, done. This place is vibrant. The owner shakes your hand and calls you by your name when the food is ready. He has a commanding presence and apart from the wonderful service and amazing food, he makes the place feel like you are amongst friends. The clientele... More

I went to this cafe last summer with a friend of mine. We wanted to try the classic English breakfast and we tried every cafe in the nearby before, luckily, finding this one on Tripadvisor. Convinced by the reviews we decided to give it a try and my, oh my, we were right. You'll have to queue for a little... More

We used to call this place the Shouting man cafe. It is now a Shouting woman - and she is excellent. You place your order in this institution and when its ready she shouts out the order. It is a cafe but it is good honest food. It even as steak and kidney pudding. Lots of life, lots of history... More

Nice to be able to go somewhere for lunch, have a decent hot meal and a drink and have change from £6! Where a sandwich, coke and a packet of crisps can top £6, these guys are a real gem in the middle of london. Only ever had the scampi and chips, which is so good and such a large... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
