Visited for a business lunch with colleague and clients. Staff were pleasant and we were made to feel very welcome but £25 for a fillet steak was overpriced considering the quality. I understand it's in the middle of the city but these places need to consider what good food really is and what prices they should charge. Good location but... More

First, excellent service Now the bad part. Pommes daupinoise were a sticky gelatinous disgrace, wallpaper paste consistency - presumably already cooked to death earlier that day in a distant food factory, they were now microwaved to crawling sludge. Pommes frites had been reheated by microwave or by cool fat. These should not have left the kitchen as they were so... More

I was entertained to lunch and we had an excellent meal. The fish soup was very tasty and my steak tartare excellently prepared. My only complaint was the level of noise and echo - rather like trying to talk in a swimming pool! I have eaten at other branches where the food is equivalently good but the noise level much... I have tried several of the BB branches but my first time at this one. Tricky to find, even when you have the street number. No 60 is a modern glitzy office block and no sign therein of this restaurant. But an inquiry at reception revealed it was tucked around the corner. Entrance not that obvious until you are outside.... Fabulous business lunch today. Enjoyed asparagus from Peru, a beautiful Chateaubriand and a glass of claret. The service was excellent but the wine was a bit under par.

I loved my business lunch at Brasserie Blanc. The ambiance is pleasant, the lay out appropriate with adequate distance between tables, in a nice open feel environment. The service is also efficient although the place was packed during lunch hours. The menu had such great variety of yummy options for starters and main that actually took me a lot of... More

Went to BB Threadneedle Street for a group booking and chose the mid range set menu. The portions were excellent and the choices were very good and plentiful. Service was excellent with just the right amount of interruptions. Went there for breakfast a couple of days later which was also great although I would pick the baked beans again and... More

Lovely, large but relaxed restaurant with fun, friendly, welcoming staff. The Eggs Benedict were top rate. The prices were reasonable given its location. Great for individuals or groups of all sizes.

Really excellent rainbow trout and hake dishes - the hake 'classic' was huge, with extra seafood and creamed veg. French throughout so rich generally (butter and cream everywhere), therefore limited need for side dishes, despite upselling of staff. Steak seemed a little overdone for a medium. Staff were fun but lacked confidence and our waitress hadn't tried any fish dishes... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
