My first lunch after I touched down in London at the invite of a good friend. It was a good way to start my time in London. The service was efficient and professional; a little more warmth would be a significant value add. The food was good. I enjoyed the mussels!

My boyfriend booked this place for us to celebrate my birthday. The bistro is a modern upper market place with a good selection of meat and fish including a meaty burger selection. The bar is adjacent to the Mandarin Continental and is considered as part of the hotel. The place provides an easy flow ambience and as the evening progressed,... More

The most disgusting thing of all was that the so called sommelier knew nothing about champagne. I visited the bar twice in the space of 2 years and interacted with 2 sommeliers. Both were clueless. I want to vomit when a "sommelier" says that a champagne contains "mainly Chardonnay" when it is made 70% of red grapes. I have no... More

We were treated very well by GM Rory and his team while visiting London from the US. The veal blanquette (a classic) was perfect, and the braised beef was a surprisingly elegant treat. We went back the next night for a post-theater nightcap at the bar. If we lived in London, we would definitely become regulars here.

Veal blanquette was divine and really well presented. My coconut pudding was fantastic. Service is friendly and professionnel...nice to being looked after by someone French! I have had a lovely lunch. Will come back.

We turned up on a Friday evening without booking. The place was packed, but we were greeted with a welcoming smile as we walked in. We were told that a table would be available in about 20 min if we wanted to wait. We sat at the bar and I ordered a Mojito which took less than 5 min to... More

Everything about this place is amazing. Can't get enough of the boudin blanc (white sausages) with creamy mash and the king prawns with garlic sauce - simply superb

Very busy for a Thursday night, servers were running around like mad. orders were missed and dishes were delivered to wrong tables. Dinner took almost three hours for a table of 4, and this is not a fancy sit down candle light restaurant. Solid food, but come here for drinks and a good time with friends, and not concentrate on... We stayed at Bar Boulud more than 10x and were strongly disappointed. Although the food menu is very good, the service is absolutely poor. No waiters are allocated to specific tables and the waiting time for the food is very long. The restaurant managers only pay attention to very few guests and have no control over the service and waiters.... More

Description
Set in bustling Knightsbridge, the award-winning Bar Boulud, London is a French-inspired bistro and wine bar at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, under the direction of renowned Lyon-born chef Daniel Boulud, following the successful format of Bar Boulud New York. The full à la carte bistro menu, served Monday through Saturday and Sunday evenings, is based on seasonal, rustic French cooking, and includes an array of charcuterie, house-made terrines, pâtés, hams, saucissons, boudins and more, specially prepared onsite. Also featured are Boulud's popular American transplants, the "Yankee" and "Piggie" burgers, as well as signature "BB" Burger unique to London. A £17 two or £19 three course 'Bouchon Menu', changing weekly, is available until 7pm, inclusive of a glass of house wine, as an excellent option for pre-theatre dining. New to 2015, Bar Boulud now serves Sunday brunch from 11am to 3.30pm at £39, with Children's Menu options also available. Bar Boulud features an impressive selection of wines available by the glass and by the bottle with a focus on the Rhône and Burgundy regions, as well as a wide selection of draught and bottled beers from noteworthy English and Continental breweries. Serving great wine by the glass from rare, large-format bottles is a Bar Boulud trademark.
