Having said that, our visit was a treat from our daughter and her boyfriend, but had we have paid hard cash, it would have been worth every penny. The building is quirky, but class. Service was brilliant. The food, excellent. Our treat included champagne on...More

This dinner was a very generous thank you present from a good friend and this restaurant is certainly at the high end of prices, even for London. However, you can keep things more reasonable by choosing excellent “house wines” by the carafe. The smoked salmon...More

We were lucky enough to dine upstairs on the mezzanine where we enjoyed the decor and excellent 8 course menu gourmand. Great selection of wines too.

The gourmand menu with wine pairing was superb. The food is amazing. The staff are so efficient and pleasant. The location is brilliant. Can't praise this place enough. You can also choose cheaper options, so it doesn't have to be super-expensive.

We went to Galvin in the snow in March. I had high hopes as I enjoy Galvin at Windows but we were let down here with service pretty poor, ambience poor, some great dishes and some average ones. Let’s get the awkward parts over. 1)...More

Met friends here for dinner. Everyone enjoyed the evening very much. The building is stunning, the service exceptional and faultless, and the food is artistically presented and beyond delicious. Only criticism is that the table was slightly larger than we would have liked which made...More

Dressing code is very relaxed. Casual smart was how I did it. When I dined there, there were people with jeans & polo all the way to suit and night dresses. So I guess it's more on your occasion rather than the restaurant.

Hi Wendy, yes that would be absolutely fine to wear smart jeans. The dress code at La Chapelle is 'smart casual'.

Description
The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.
