We also waited 45 minutes (while others were served earlier), for a £35 bento box, I had some pretty high expectations but it was really quite awful, with very average sushi and black cod. In hindsight, perhaps the bento was a poor choice so we were relegated to gaijin status. The chef's special sushi looked much better on the table... More

It's effin great. Food, service and hot sake all top banana. Best sushi in London. Always full of Japanese nationals which tells you all you need to know. Eat with the locals so they say.

Absolutely delicious and authentic, nice atmosphere. Best sushi in town, super fresh and well made. I love it!

Awful customer service, only interested in your money. We waited 45 minutes for our food even though when we entered there was hardly anyone there. Both our orders were wrong. Told them but they didn't address the issue promptly - eventually the manager came over to try to make me keep the food to save them the hassle of replacing... More

Hands down best Japanese in London. Go for lunch and try the sets - high quality ingredients, authentic menu and always buzzing.

I ended up in this restaurant almost by chance as it is close to my job and my boyfriend and I fancied some Japanese food. As he is Japanese I was quite excited about it. It turned out to be one of our best experiences since we've been living here. It's an authentic Japanese place, with a cozy restaurant atmosphere... More

Tajima-Tei is probably my favourite restaurant in London, I've always loved the authentic experience and amazing food and have visited maybe 10 times since finding it by chance one lunch time, so I was slightly concerned to see they had changed ownership since I last went earlier in the year and was hoping not to find any changes made to... It's the closest restaurant to my apartment & yet, after 7 years, I haven't tried it because there are so many other places I wanted to try first. It's very authentic Japanese - fresh ingredients, proper bento boxes & very well prepared. Bit pricey - most diners seemed to be enjoying a business lunch, although it's worth it for the... More

Then again, I have never been to Canada, but like chips with cottage cheese on top. So this is never going to be a lengthy destination name dropping discourse on how unauthentic any Japanese food is outside * some obscure village in Hokkaido/Kyushu/Shikkoko/Guam*. This is about a London based, Japanese food restaurant. Right, Tajima Tei. This has been here for... More

Tucked away real japanese restaurant (hard to find behind all the street stalls). As I only had lunch, hard to know if Tajima deserves a 5-star or not. Will be back. Decent selection of Shochu though only by the bottle. Great quality on the bento box that I had (which basically only sushi and sashimi). Pleased.
