This is one of the best restaurants in Marylebone. Not only because of the quality of the food but the attendance as well. However you have to prepare your budget to go there.

Friends of mine rave about this restaurant but unfortunately I just don't see what is so great about it. The service is great but the food is just mediocre. We sampled the bruschetta to start which simply came as a sliced baguette with some chopped tomatoes on top, I thought there would be a little more to it. The pasta... More

Visited with friends for dinner on a Sunday evening. From beginning to end, high quality. Excellent cocktails, fabulous food and great service. And buzzy, in a good way, even though a Sunday evening.

Without doubt the Italian food is as good as most of the top Italian food in Italy . I'm never disappointed. The staff excellent. I visit almost once a month, I am never disappointed the standard always remains high. I would suggest for a main course try the tagliatelle and lobster. The starters are all good. Yes it's a little... More

Went there for lunch with 2 other people. We all found the food very nice, we didn't get much, just a bread basket and some olives for starters. Everyone had pizza as a mains and a bottle of red between us as it was lunch! The starters and mains were both tasty and the wine was also nice. The complimentary... More

The place was very busy, but then it was a Friday evening. The décor, from lighting to furniture and fittings (including Christmas decorations) were beautifully thought out and executed; just a shame that the plates of food that came from the kitchens weren't as lovingly prepared. I had the lamb cutlets and a few of the chips that we shared... More

Went to the place without reservation. Had to wait at the bar with a cocktail and things turned out very well... good prosciutto di parma to start and an excellent sea bass in salt crust which can be strongly recommended

Based on friends recommendation I expected an excellent meal. The decor is lovely and the service wonderful. The Ossobuco was tough and therefore under cooked. The fillet of sesbass had a large number of bones and was under seasoned. The avocado and artichoke salad was tasty but too much salt. Ok place but not great.

Il Baretto Wine Bar and Restaurant in London's very happening Marylebone Village is another winner from the stable of restaurateur Arjun Waney, who brought you the stellar Roka, Zuma and La Petite Maison. If you're looking for a super Italian cuisine and would like to avoid both chain restaurants and designer price tags, Il Baretto in Blandford Street is an excellent choice. Located between Marylebone High Street and Baker Street, Il Baretto has a smart wine bar located on the ground floor and a cavernous basement dining room that is a stylish restaurant for group parties and celebrations. Popular with a local crowd, as well as with tourists and shoppers from Bond Street, this restaurant serves up authentic Italian recipes and we love the spaghetti con astice with lobster, sweet chilli and garlic sauce, and the risotto ai carciofi, a creamy artichoke risotto. Pizzas and dishes from the robata grill are winners too.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
