This review is saved by the great service from all the staff. Food from starter to mains were all average. Flavours - would have been nice. Desserts helped raise the rating to three also. Not going again.

Visited for a leaving meal. Amazing meal - although slightly expensive! (It is London after all!) The aubergine to start was great and the lobster pasta was one of my favourite Italian dishes I have tried. Would really recommend going here, and is just off the Oxford St. down serene and quite side roads.

Trendy Italian happening wine bar with great food and massive selection of wine. Starters were about £18 salad £13 mains ranged from £25 up. However the pizza was great and very good value at £16. I had some Charcuterie which came with some kind of amazing apricot pickle. At least I think it was apricot I asked the waiter but... More

Although this place is very close to the busy Oxford street it is NOT a tourist destination. It is a proper Italian attracting families and local folks. They serve all the traditional italian dishes but also have a wood-fire pizza oven where they make some superb pizza's for the little ones. Wine list is very decent and you will be... More

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, when it comes to food and service, well even the interior design is nice and stylish - and very good table plan also for singles. BUT it is way too over priced - a glass of okay Chianti £10 !!! Yet, I had a good experience, due to quick, service minded and friendly staff. I... More

Well the title says it all. We visited on a fairly quiet Thursday evening, seemed to be plenty of tables. Should have been warned by the TV on over the bar and most of the waiters watching, but we were hungry. Eventually they took their eyes from the screen and gave us a menu, which was impossible to read because... More

One of the best Italian meals that I've had! I've had better pizza only in Italy! Risotto with truffle - excellent. Penne Arabiata - excellent. Both desserts to die for! Attentive service. Couldn't have asked for more.

A luncheon meeting with colleagues and although very busy and vibrant, I think it's fair to say I've had better food at much better value. The menu is pretty comprehensive but I chose a Risotto with black truffle, my colleagues both had Lasagna and we had plenty of garlic pizza bread to accompany. Honestly, I've had better and I could... More

Il Baretto Wine Bar and Restaurant in London's very happening Marylebone Village is another winner from the stable of restaurateur Arjun Waney, who brought you the stellar Roka, Zuma and La Petite Maison. If you're looking for a super Italian cuisine and would like to avoid both chain restaurants and designer price tags, Il Baretto in Blandford Street is an excellent choice. Located between Marylebone High Street and Baker Street, Il Baretto has a smart wine bar located on the ground floor and a cavernous basement dining room that is a stylish restaurant for group parties and celebrations. Popular with a local crowd, as well as with tourists and shoppers from Bond Street, this restaurant serves up authentic Italian recipes and we love the spaghetti con astice with lobster, sweet chilli and garlic sauce, and the risotto ai carciofi, a creamy artichoke risotto. Pizzas and dishes from the robata grill are winners too.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
