I love this cafe and have visited several times over the years. It is a very pretty location by the river and the gardens are beautiful. Yesterday I had the misfortune to be served by a woman who not only was rude to me but I had already noticed had zero customer service skills with people. She did not once... More

Found this cafe while looking to rest weary legs from alot of walking .. Sat overlooking the river which was lovely, until coached arrived to block our view. The only let down was the attitude of the staff. Just glad I had cash because with their card machine playing up , it was the customers who seemed to be taking... More

Ridiculous ban on using a laptop, despite place being empty. I would have stuck around and ordered some food, but the place was so miserable I couldn't wait to leave. Dire coffee too. Avoid!!

A cafe in the embankment gardens has little indoor but lots of outdoor seating right in the gardens area. All day breakfast and other simple meals at reasonable prices. Food is fine but it's more about the location.

Could of been alot better, the service staff were a little surly and acted bored @ 10am, the coffee was good alot better than most places, the hot chocolate was weak, the mocha was bland, the muffin was dried out. It offered a lot and returned so little so disappointing was the feeling all round.

Good home style cooking at reasonable prices. Sausage especially very good. Nice when warm and nice you can sit outside.

I'm not really keen on chain restaurants but I have to say that our waiter was really attentive and kept popping back to make sure that my table of 7 had everything that we needed. Had seafood tagliatelli that was absolutely delicious.

Near Embankment Station Tube, Whitehall Gardens, and Golden Jubilee Bridge there is a hidden treasure with outstanding straddle and hot coffee. The food is full of flavor as well. The staff is usually very friendly. I usually sit next to all the traffic and over look the Thames because the beautiful park is the pigeon apocalypse.

We only popped in for tea whilst passing by. We arrived late morning and the small café (an old garden pavilion) was not busy. It is tucked away in a quiet spot across the road from the river and there is outdoor seating. There was a reasonable choice of cakes and the bakewell tart was good. The (shared) outdoor toilet... This was an odd breakfast experience. The food was minimally flavorful, but the service was on the border of unkind. Maybe because we got there a few minutes before they officially opened? Fyi, on Saturdays they open at 8:30.

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
