Everything about this restaurant was perfect and was probably one of my best food experiences so far! Services was friendly and very helpful when describing each dish. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone! Hope to be back soon :)

Flames from the stove and grill are the first thing you notice when you walk into Brat. This is a wonderful welcome scene when you step into a restaurant. The location is warm and cosy: in my opinion this is one of the "best looking"...restaurant on earth. But no more words on the location, let's go straight to the point: how good is the food? It is good, very good. High quality ingredients, this is an undoubted evidence. Why can I affirm that? It's easy, the cooking process at Brat is Essential: cooking over fire is the focal point in every way. This choice is risky, because "simple" cooking is very "difficult": if you are not able to select the best ingredients, and master the kitchen, you cannot win. But at Brat they perfectly know what they are doing! A special note on the "Roast Duck Rice": oustanding. From the duck to the vegetables, from the rice to the side salads, this is already a 3 michelin star dish. And they know how to make cocktail too: the oyster shell martini was superb! So, why "just" 4 out of 5? In my opinion the service is not yet at the level of the kitchen, or the location. Tables are not so big, and this is perfectly fine as long as the plates are taken away at the right time. At the moment, they are left on the table, even if empty, for too long. In general I can also say that not all the waiters are equally talented or trained. That said, the food wins! This place is strongly suggested.More

Delicious: spider crab toast, grilled mackerel with soused tomato, plaice pil-pil with cockles Nice: Burnt cheesecake and nectarine Ordinary: menai oysters with sorrel (oysters were tiny), bread & burnt onion butter (toasted bread was very hard) Thoroughly enjoyed the food overall. Need to accept the...noisy, boisterous environment and being seated shoulder-to-shoulder with other customers at long tables.More

Brat is definitely an interesting restaurant with wide research for its dishes and first quality ingredients. The first-floor restaurant is not very well planned, tables are numerous and very close to each another. The seating means you are sitting on your neighbour’s lap. You can...hear all their conversation. It is not ideal for a couple or in general, no privacy regarding your conversation, because your neighbours will be less than 50 cm away. Table gap of 5 cm I strongly suggest removing a few tables and giving the dinners a little more reasonable space. The menu is Basque Tapas based on idea. Wine list is long and it has very interesting choices. Attention to detail lacking. The cutlery, crockery, and glassware seem to have quality but they gave us a chipped glass and in the middle of the meal, it broke. During this experience, we tried: -smoked potatoes -bread and burnt onion butter  incredible. I could eat kilos of this starter -grilled peppers -roasted greens -flourish farm salad -risotto  too salty, too dry, and numerous ingredients (veggies) that were not well compatible. Quite disappointed -whole turbot (almost 2kg)  truly memorable and simply but perfectly cooked. The service charge has been £45. Insane. No linen, though in keeping with the style of a 1 Michelin star restaurant, and reasonably comfortable seating. I would more than happy to have a service charge for a great service. It is not Brat’s case. The waitress that served us, was too intrusive, almost flirty and definitely I did not like her approach: ”Is everything fine? / How is going?”. No need to hear these questions every 15 mins. If I need help, I would call a waiter/waitress. For example, when we finished a bottle of wine, she did not ask if we wanted another one. Another interesting point is the different ways to serve the food. For instance, Grilled Bread and Onion Butter. This latter was served in a big bowl for the couple seated close to our table. Instead, the onion butter came in a small dish to us (4 people). At the end of the experience, we spent almost £400, No amaro of coffee on Brat. With a similar bill, I would appreciate they "would pamper" their customers. No here.More

I visited here after work on my own. Thankfully I'd booked well in advance and had a seat by the window and was able to watch the chefs at work in the kitchen. The staff were attentive and friendly and made me feel welcome. I...had the mutton chop with butter beans. The chop was very tasty enough but very fatty with little meat whilst the beans were also tasty but not all were cooked particularly well with some being quite hard. However, for dessert I had the olive oil ice-cream which was truly outstanding and some of the best I've ever had. If visiting I would recommend the fish as I noticed that almost everyone was having it.More

We were a group of 3 visiting for dinner on a Sunday night. The place was heaving and had a nice buzzy atmosphere. Some tables have a view of the kitchen, although ours did not. The 3 of us ordered the grilled bread with anchovies,...bread with onion butter, spider crab toast, grilled peppers, leeks, lemon sole, mutton chop and the sirloin steak. We also tried the olive oil and crème caramel desserts. The food was excellent! All of the meat and seafood was of a high quality and cooked to perfection, and a surprising highlight was both of the breads. I loved the caramel dessert as well. Service was friendly, borderline slow, but within reason. The bill came to £320, of which £105 was spent on drinks. This is a very popular restaurant with a lot of hype surrounding it, but we were very happy with our meal, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.More

What a meal. My wife surprised me on my 50th Birthday with a trip to Brat. I’d never been, but after seeing the restaurant in Somebody Feed Phil, I’d been wanting to go! The moment I walked in the dining room and spotted the kitchen,...I knew I was in the right place! First of all, the host, as well as the waitress, was OUTSTANDING! Not to mention the time that the Chef spent explaining their signature dish, the turbot. From start to finish, EXCEPTIONAL service. The waitress walked us through the menu making wonderful suggestions at our request. We settled on the grilled bread, oysters, lamb chop, turbot, greens, cheesecake, and ice cream. Honestly…spectacular! I’ve eaten at many very good restaurants all over the world. Brat is destination dining. The turbot is worth every £…not to mention the oysters and the ice cream. Everything was delicious. Thank you to the team for making our night spectacular.More

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Great service from the team taking the time to go through the menu, explain the dishes and portion sizes and giving tips which suited us perfectly. Food was 10/10 with a good variety to suit everyone’s tastes. I would...love to visit in the future as part of a group so we could take advantage of some of the large sharing dishes.More

This is a very good restaurant. The service is impeccable, but the place can get warm during summer as it is small and it fills up quickly. If you are looking for more privacy and quiet, this is not it. We ordered several dishes and...a couple of them could have used a bit more flavor, but nevertheless we had a very good experience. Dessert was the star of the show, so leave room for some. the prices are reasonable and the service charge (tip ) is optional as it should be. We recommend making reservations or you might have a long wait.More

Absolutely fabulous restaurant with a very unassuming entrance I walked past. Fantastic food and very friendly staff. Watched out food being cooked. My son and I had their signature dish turbot for 3/4 to share with a salad which was so tasty and new pots....The turbot took 40 mins to cook but so worth the wait melted in your mouth. Washed down with an amazing wine recommended by the sommelier. I will def go back if I can get a table very hard to get a space I waited 3 monthsMore

We were at the shortage location and had an amazing dining experience with the open kitchen and able to watch the chefs do their magic. This restaurant is evidence that you don't need to complicate things with a ton of spices, you just need to...know how to cook the items properly, which they do. Explanation as to how and why they couldn't determine it the way they do. They know what they are doing.More

Been here a number of times for lunch and dinner. Usually busy but Saturday lunch time- not as busy. Still seating is cramped with almost ping table but next table very close. Open kitchen but does not smell. Similar menu to the last time -...so choose dishes similar to Last. All tasted good but not as wow- probably because it’s the second time eating it, so did not surprise/ excite as much. Reese who served us was very nice. Some of other waiters look dower. Odd thing is mains: steak arrived first then the two fishes- that would have been a major no in terms of dining! Amazing dishes: the oyster with sorrel Bread with anchovy Spider crab toast Plaice pil pil with clam Beef sirloin provided it’s not too fatty a cut. Burnt cheesecake and caramel cream Dishes that was average/ below expectations: Side of peppers- too sweet Bread and butter- was average Langoustine- small and was average Grilled mackerel with soused tomato- tasteless Lemon sole- tastes less Honey cake with summer berries- too sweetMore
