Great help from the Head of Reception in organizing a drink for 9 guests on a last minute. Our guests were delighted with the stunning view and enjoyed the House Prosecco quite a lot.

I have wanted to visit The Gherkin since forever, so having the opportunity to do so via Searcy's Restaurant was ideal. Four of us visited at lunchtime and we were treated very well. The food was nice and well presented but on its own was not really worth the price; however the whole package of being in this wonderful building... More

A girlfriend and I went here for Friday night drinks. The views of London were absolutely fantastic. How easy it is to forget how romantic London by night can really be. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend this place for couples or a great night out with friends. Just unfortunate you only get a... More

The Gerkin is one of London's landmark buildings that everyone knows. Searcys is the restaurant located on the top floors and is normally a private members club but we were able to book a table for lunch on the bank holiday. Security in to the building was high and we had to provide both ID and pass through airport style... More

I visited in Dec 2015 but noticed the review was deleted so here I go again. Note how incensed I am by how bad this place is to review this again. My partner and I had afternoon tea and this was hands down the worst place I've been for anything. The price was £70 for two of us - for... More

This was our first visit to the Gherkin and we were celebrating 2 birthdays. The bar at the top of the Gherkin was a lovely experience although it was very noisy & the windows were covered in condensation but this didn't really detract from the great atmosphere. We had a table in the restaurant next to a window and the... More

We went to Searcys earlier this week and we had a lovely dinner. We opted for the Wellington and the cod. Both of them were lovely and ultra yummy. The view, as expected, is great, overlooking Tower Bridge and the City. Having dined at Darwin (SkyGarden) & The Shard, I found Searcys to be a bit overrated and pricey. If... More

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and we're delighted when we arrived to be seated next to a window with a fabulous view. Our crab starter was beautifully fresh, but frankly a little bland, which was a disappointing start. The beef wellington was absolutely fantastic and melted in the mouth. Sliced pretty thinly, Served on a bed of mash with 2... More

Worth the price of the drinks for the experience/entry alone. Despite this being a members only bar you can fill out an online booking enquiry and request to be put on their guest list. A time slot of 2 hours was allocated, which was plenty. The drinks were very expensive but we knew that in advance and thought that it... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
