Great venue. Upstairs is very interesting where it sits amongst surrounding builds. Makes one feel other-worldly. Fabulous venue. Food was very very nice, great wines and service amazing.

Popped in with a client this morning and what a lovely breakfast and pleasant staff. Would fully recommend as an ideal business meeting place... Certainly beats the likes of big high street chains and is bit of a treat for your clients.

I have been lucky enough to have a few business lunches here over the last couple of years and the fact that I keep going back probably says it all!! It is a very nice place in The City to dine. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is plentiful and wholesome. Lots of good hearty dishes -... More

My second visit to this excellent restaurant for earl morning breakfast meeting. Just down from Bank of England and in hart of city near Bank station. Good bright service and varied hot breakfast freshly cooked including fish dishes. Reasonably priced as is lunch though so many bottles off water on tables not like old days. And 4 hour lunches!!!!!

I had a couple of breakfasts here and absolutely loved the omelette. As for lunch, this was my first time and I would probably go back but not soon. Cauliflower & cep soup was nice, cod a bit smelly, cheesecake was a big disappointment... it actually didn't taste like cheesecake at all (not sure if there was any cheese used... More

This wasn't an exceptional meal - but its difficult to judge a restaurant when you have 20 people round the table and there is a limited menu. Restaurant had a nice ambience and the staff were attentive and efficient. Good location if you are in the City.

Last night was my first visit to the Mercer as an invited guest. Eight of us sat down to an informal business/networking meeting in the private dining room. The menu selections were great and my meal from starter to dessert was excellent

Great food, great service and great wines. Seek out the Maitre D', Jason. Accommodating and exacting, to a T. A fabulous evening spend in a great establishment, with great company. For starters ... I highly recommend the Black Pudding Salad

Dropped in here for a light lunch on a Monday and much to my surprise it was full! We took a seat by the window and ordered crab on toast as a main course - and guess what delicious. Flexible, friendly, and buzzy, ideal for business

Second visit in recent months and lots of positives. Daily 2 course menu for £20 was well worth it (confirm its available when you book). Wine list is expensive but spotted an Italian bargain on the bin end list (Ceppaiona) at £33. Warm Black pudding salad was excellent and followed with fish or pie of the day. Both beautiful and... Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
