I can't criticise the food or service but the clinical dining room leaves the whole experience a little lacking. I had a wonderful crab starter and pasta and langoustine main. Nice wine list. I will be back and just need to accept the style.

Some pretty good food let down by some less than average service. We were left waiting for ten minutes in our coats even though the restaurant was practically empty. Had to ask four times for some non nut nibbles but none ever turned up. They forgot to bring a dish, started clearing plates while some people were still eating. All... More

Upon entering the restaurant one immediately notices that it is a classy restaurant. We went for lunch and it was packed. The food was excellent as was the presentation and the wine list was also very good. Not on the cheap side but neither very expensive . Expect to pay around 100 sterling for a three course meal and wine.... More

I had pasta with wild boar as a starter and veal as a main. Superb taste & presentation and excellent service. Recommended.

L'anima used to be one of my favourite places for client lunches. A while ago there was talk of a Michelin star. However, my recent visit was a bit of a disappointment. It feels like the Michelin star didn't happen and the restaurant is having a grand old sulk about it. The venue is very modern. The dining room is... More

I was so greatly surprised by this place and their authentic Pizza wood oven from Naples. I had a very good pizza and my colleagues had delicious pasta. I will go back for sure !

L'Anima has become one of those restaurants we visit every time we go to London. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very sophisticated and luxurious feel. The service is on point and Chef Lello is a master in the kitchen. The food is absolutely beautiful and tastes every bit as good as it looks. The desserts were amazing.... More

Don't be put off by the room comment. It is only that we were in the private room. The food was absolutely fabulous. Seven of us for dinner and for reasons I won't go into, one only wanted to order food when the others had finished their starters. Many restaurants would make a fuss but they didn't - they were... Large room with high ceiling, cool bar and well spaced tables. Lots of choices on the menu and happy to organise courses so they can be shared. Extensive italian wine list, although 'Dreams, white wine' not available on the night we attended. They suggested another that they said was similar.Which was expensive and frankly awful. They did not charge us for that,... Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
