Visited this pub a few times over the years, most recently last Friday afternoon. Plenty of real ales which suit me down to the ground and a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Been a pub for years and done out in a lovely Victorian style, the place has loads of history. Jack the Ripper used to stalk some of his victims from... More

The last part of our Rippervision tour (not part of the tour but an extension of ours). Friendly staff and easy to get to location. Nice and relaxed atmosphere.

Great London pub opposite Spitalfields Market. Built in the 18th century and originally called The Eight Bells Inn, 2 more were added later thus it became The Ten Bells. During a period in the late 20th century it was renamed The Jack the Ripper due to two of the women who were murdered by Jack the Ripper drinking there. The... More

Great Pub, situated in a prime location, the atmosphere of the pub is electric, with the dim lightbulbs and candle light, a trip to The 10 Bells is an excellent way to finish a long day or even a jack the ripper tour like we did. Great selection of drinks for reasonable prices would highly recommend

Met friends by chance in Spitalfields and headed to the Ten Bells to sample their 'ALL DAY IPA' and 'Session IPA', which having one eye on the RBS6N rugby and one ear on my wife's conversation with her friends... Great buzzy pub with good mid range selection of beers. I bet it got messy later on. Not a great amount... More

Every trip I've made to London over the past ten years, I've always stopped in at The Ten Bells. It's been there hundreds of years, and is believed to have been a pub where Jack the Ripper stalked some of his victims. It gets crowded in the evening starting around 5PM (like most London pubs), but the atmosphere is very... More

This is a traditional pub with a great cocktail bar upstairs, also has a private room for hire. The main pub lively, often very busy as it's situated opposite Spitalfield market, Chris Church opposite and on the corner of Fournier Street, a notorious drinking hole for Jack the Ripper (allegedly) and some of the finest examples of houses built around... Recently had my 50th Birthday in the upstairs bar. Bar staff were great and very attentive. Good PA for our DJ to play thru' and a 1.00 a.m finish.Top night with a great atmosphere in one of London most historic pubs, Jack the ripper and all that. Defiantly worth a visit, if your not hiring then downstairs for a pint... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighbourhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
