Further to purchasing afternoon tea for my parents. As a gift for my mothers birthday we thought afternoon tea at the Ritz would be a lovely 70th gift. As my parents are now in their later years a trip to London is a big deal as getting around is not as easy as it used to be, they prepared for... More

I booked afternoon tea for myself and 3 sisters as on a recent weekend in London. I could only get a 7.30 booking but this was actually perfect. A totally unhurried experience of over 2 hours with unlimited tasty sandwiches and beautiful cakes....we particularly like the macaroons and our waiter kindly brought us another plateful!! The champagne was chilled and... More

Beautiful traditional English afternoon tea. Although was a little cramped, but the service was great, the food was also great. The piano man was just brilliant, he was actually the highlight of the day :)

At a cost of over £50 per person for afternoon tea one does expect something exceptional. It wasn't. Polite, friendly service but tables too close and everyone crammed in. I didn't feel I could sit back and relax. Plates, teapots, cake stand and other tableware was laid out on a table far too small. You need time to savour all... More

Myself and my daughter visited here for a standard afternoon tea. It is something I have always wanted to do but I begrudge paying £50+ pounds for some sandwiches and cake. However, I decided to treat us and I was pleased I have tried it. The service was perfect and overall the food left us feeling very full. I was... More

We enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea experience at the Ritz, following a voucher which was purchased for us as a gift. The experience was wonderful. The setting was amazing. The ambience just right. And a harpist softly playing whilst we ate was a lovely addition. The food was delicious and the service excellent and very friendly. Despite being 'The Ritz'... More

I went here for Afternoon Tea and it was wonderful. The ambience was fantastic and provided a lovely environment to enjoy afternoon tea. This was a birthday present for my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was great and the food and tea provided were exceptional. Certainly one of the best Afternoon Teas i've been too. Strongly advise... More

I took my daughter and a friend as a half term treat but have definitely had better afternoon tea and overall experiences...The Goring stands out in particular. Turned up expecting to use the valet parking - had to leave car and hunt inside for someone, not a good start. Two out of three of us could not put our legs... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
