We went for afternoon tea as part of my special birthday celebrations. I had been looking forward to this for months as it's famous for the best afternoon tea in the world!....not quite! You are certainly paying for where you are actually eating the afternoon tea and not the quality of food. I have had numerous afternoon teas that were... More

We were bought 'Afternnon Tea at The Ritz' as a special birthday treat. We came here on a Saturday afternoon at about 3:30pm. I feel a bit mean not giving this luxury event a five star rating, but a couple of minor issues pulled it down a bit. We arrived a little before our booked time, and once our coats... More

There seem to be a number of these "experiences" around these days. We enjoyed our afternoon tea overall though it seemed a lot of money to pay for a few sandwiches and cakes( we did have a glass of champagne as well though we paid over £70 each). But, we went for "the experience" so I suppose we can't complain.

We were very welcome by very pleasant staff. With the Christmas decoration still in place the hotel looked magical. The Afternoon tea was delicious and plentiful and the staff very attentive. We would recommend it as a special treat.

My wife and I went for Afternoon Tea yesterday afternoon. This was a gift from her work colleagues on her retirement. What an experience it was from the doorman to the reception staff and waiters they couldn't have been more welcoming and pleasant. We decided to add a glass of champagne to enhance our experience and as you would expect... More

Beautiful place, attentive staff, good selection of teas, we had the Dajeerling and the Ritz blend tea. We enjoyed the tea, but felt that the finger sandwiches had been left in a cool place or a fridge, so the bread was not as fresh tasting as it could have been as it was too cold. We were really full by... More

We were bought this as a gift. Asked for a 4pm reservation but were given 1:30pm. No apologies given. We turned up and were crammed into an area to the front of the hotel....not where the 'real' people go. The whole thing felt like you were being rushed through it for the next sitting. They began clearing up while you... More

My husband took me to The Ritz for my birthday (1st Jan), something that we were both looking forward to. Firstly I must say the Ritz is stunning, beautiful décor and especially for Christmas! We were early and had to wait around, as there were no available seats and nobody even tried to assist in finding one (we ended up... More

Description
A British institution in itself, Tea at The Ritz is proud to be a member of the Tea Council's prestigious Tea Guild. The luxurious and graceful setting of The Ritz Palm Court is legendary and this is most certainly an opportunity that must be experienced, whether you are visiting London or already live there. Reflecting the elegant nature of the hotel's architecture The Ritz London has a dress code in different areas of the hotel as follows: Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie for afternoon tea in The Palm Court and for lunch and dinner in The Ritz Restaurant. Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
