Lunch was served until 4:00, so we were able to just catch it while walking along the south bank. The food was a little slow to arrive and there was some commotion about which tables were reserved or not, but it ended up being a good lunch at a reasonable price.

We had a nice day in London and found this pub on the walk to Waterloo station. Lovely pub with a great choice of gin. The prices are very reasonable for London. Bar service was very quick and friendly. Toilets one of the cleanest I have seen in a pub, which is always a good sign that the pub is... More

As the location is a tourist hot spot don't expect a quite drink, Staff are quick when serving and food is pretty decent if you are able to secure a table. Location wise its right on the Thames so in the summer you can at least take your drink outside to the surrounding areas and find some space.

Poor experience. The food came out extraordinarily quickly but was tepid. Think it was spare. Dog behind the bar was interesting. Unfriendly staff. If it didn't have a captive market this place would struggle.

Hi Hybrid77 Thanks for your review...I think. Please be advised, we don't give people "spare" food. We cook everything to order. Sorry it was so quick. Maybe next time we will make you wait longer so it feels more genuine. And the dog...., she is my dog, Zippy. Very cute and most of our guests love her as do the... More

We came upon this venue whilst walking the South Bank, and found it to be open over Christmas when many other venues were not. Superior Gin Menu, although they don't always have the full stock offered on the menu. i would recommend Monkey 47.

Arranged to meet family and friends at this place , mainly because of their advertised gin menu . What gin menu is the question .... very small selection of available gins from those advertised with little or none of the ingredients required to present the drink as advertised . We won't be back ...

Hi, and thanks for your review which sounds overly harsh 1 star....Sounds dreadful. We're the staff rude, pub untidy? We stock around 20 different brands of gin, we also have 5 different fruit infused Sipsmith gins which we do in-house and 5 different tonics from Fever-Tree, but this seems not enough in your opinion. Hope you have recovered this awful... More

We returned here after a previous thoroughly enjoyable experience but this time to describe the whole experience as unsatisfactory would be an understatement ! After making a reservation our greeting on arrival by the staff behind the bar was unwelcoming and abrupt! We continued upstairs to a warmer welcome however the table and windows were grubby the service was slow... More

Nice pub on the edge of the Thames, south bank right near Blackfriars station. Had an upstairs room for hire with a terrace which is meant to be very nice for large gatherings. We visited the pub downstairs which is just you average but very spacious pub, serving good ales and lagers. I have been here in Summer when you... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
