We had booked a table for four to coincide with the closure of the British Museum at 17.30. On entering we were warmly greeted by the manager and shown to our table. It's a cosy little place in a side street and easy enough to find. We enjoyed our food. My sardine starter was nicely done. For a main course... More

I was with a group of 5 ladies who needed lunch after a visit to Great Ormond Street hospital to present a charity cheque. We found this little gem quite by chance and the staff made us very welcome while we chose from the menu.We ate lasagne with garlic bread and salad, the lasagne was delicious, we all agreed that the... We visited Cosmoba for an early dinner after spending the day at the British Museum. At 5:30pm on a Thursday it was quiet and we didn't have to book. we received a warm welcome and enjoyed a delicious meal. My husband needs gluten free food and this was not a problem at all. The restaurant is small and cosy with... More

We happened on this place by accident when looking for somewhere to eat near our hotel. We had the olives and garlic bread to start, which was very simple - but the best quality. The same for the pasta mains - full of flavour and really authentic. Although I was full, I had to try the Cannoli for desert and... More

We visit London every February and always stay around Russell Square. It has become a tradition to visit this restaurant on the last night of our stay. Saving the best til last. Great food, friendly service, always with a smile. It is simply the best & our most favourite restaurant. It cannot be faulted.

We love this place but sadly don't get to visit as often as we would like. Small but perfectly formed, the food is always authentic and delicious. We get treated like family and the next generation, in Alessio, is just as charming and welcoming as his father, uncle and grandfather. They even rearranged the furniture to fit us all in!!!... It's great to support independent restaurants and my last visit to Cosmoba was really good. Sadly, last night was a disappointment. The garlic bread starter was so so and the carbonara was mostly pasta. Our booking was lost so we were almost turned away. Would think twice about going back.

Superb food and friendly, attentive staff. I had the best calf's liver I've ever eaten, and my wife said her meat ravioli was the best she had ever eaten. Outstanding bruschetta, very authentic. Our only niggle was that the calamari could have been a little crisper, but it was very tender and tasty. Good wine selection, nice desserts. All-around excellent.... More

We visited this little Italian last night. Tucked down a side street, this is exactly the sort of place you hope to stumble upon when in London. Nothing pretentious, just genuine, honest food and great service. The prices are unbelievably reasonable too. This will be a regular haunt from now on. Loved it!

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
