Stopped off on a busy Satruday lunchtime with my wife and 2 year old daughter, the staff were very welcoming and found us a great table with a corner seat so we could all sit together. As per usual with Paul the food was fantastic, we had the sharing meat and cheese board. Really good selection of meat, cheese and... More

The pleasures of indulging in delightful Parisian pasties, macaroons and breads are well known, and the PAUL chain have shone a light in different locales around London with great success. The Covent Garden branch has the added bonus of a proper restaurant at the back. This is well worth seeking out, as it offers great value in Central London with... More

Excellent service from friendly accommodating staff in a busy vibrant restaurant. Afternoon tea with champagne fantastic value at £35 for 2. Three choices of flavour for sandwiches and the patisserie was delicious, we will definitely be back.

Late evening coffee and cake. The restaurant was busy with an eclectic mix of people from locals to tourists, wealthy to not so much. The coffee was top notch and the cakes to die for. Despite being very busy, staff were friendly and attentive. Would certainly return for something more substantial as the food coming out the kitchen looked great.

Popped in here for lunch. Didn't realise there was a restaurant at the back but we sat in there and ordered from the set menu which was really good value. Pate to start - delicious, I had ravioli, my friend the coq au vine, both lovely. We then hung on a bit and had a pastry each. I only drunk... More

nice addition at the back of pauls. The food is fine, wines not too dear and it's quiet enough to have a good conversation.

I like this restaurant. It is light and nicely furnished, and busy with lots of tourists. It has a varied menu. I ordered a tuna salad. It was fresh tuna and the salad ingredients were fresh and tasty. Paul always has yummy pastries. The waitress was friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable.

This is the type of place that squeezes a party of 3 on a table for 2. Consequently I spent a forgettable hour staring at the wall of the kitchen - even though we'd booked in advance. The food was ok - we had afternoon tea , but the cream looked suspiciously like it had been squirted out of a... More

Description
Our bakery, café and restaurant at 29 Bedford Street was the first branch of PAUL in the UK and is just behind the beautiful St. Paul's Church, designed by Inigo Jones and consecrated in 1638. Bedford Street was originally built between 1633 and 1640 and runs north from The Strand to King Street. You will find PAUL almost on the corner of King Street in the heart of Covent Garden, just a few minutes' walk from the Piazza (a building dating from the 1830s) with its busy markets and eclectic boutiques, as well as the Royal Opera House, The London Transport Museum, The London Coliseum, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, The Strand and Drury Lane, making us the perfect destination for visitors, opera buffs, balletomanes and theatre goers alike. Tucked away behind our bustling bakery with its fabulous selection of bread baked daily on site, you will find one of the two London branches of Le Restaurant de PAUL, offering all-day French brasserie-style dining. Our French restaurant has an unmistakably Parisian look that combines the contemporary with the classic. Three large 19th Century murals are complemented by soft grey coloured banquettes and plush teal seating. Industrial style ceiling lamps and stone floor tiles to the rear of the restaurant complete an intimate and stylish dining environment. Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, a splendid afternoon tea and dinner, or just for coffee or tea and a delicious croissant, cake, éclair or slice of fruit tart, we also have a pre-theatre supper set menu served from 5.30 pm so you won't miss the show. Closest stations are Leicester Square (Piccadilly Line, Northern Line), Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line) Embankment (Northern, Circle, District and Bakerloo Lines) and Charing Cross (Northern Line, Bakerloo Line and national rail services). 64 seats are available. Disabled access available. Free Wi-fi.
