This place is great in many ways! The fish and seafood is the freshest you can get in London. They even have a fishmonger at the front of the restaurant, where you can pick your food if there is nothing from the menu which takes your fancy. However, I am sure there will be as the menu is extensive. I... More

Really superb fish dishes (including the veritable cod & chips) well-presented, at a reasonable price, in very pleasant surroundings. It's also nicely designed requiring passage through the fishmongers to the restaurant itself. Unfortunately, it was not great service. The waiting staff were generally inattentive. Our meals arrived with a several minutes gap between the first and last dish served (between... More

This is an absolutely fabulous fresh fish restaurant with outstanding oysters, salmon, and other fresh fish. The actual choice varies by day as it's completely fresh. You have to go past the storefront which looks like a fishmonger's stall (and smells like it) but do so, for a real treat. It's a small place, and can be noisy, but has... More

The food, wine, service and atmosphere were all spot on here. We started with some sharing plates and moved on to our perfectly cooked mains - the sea bass is well worth trying, but in all honesty, it was all brilliant. A true tour de force on the London seafood scene!

Great Lunch, we will be back. Actually we didn't have "Plaice" but between my wife and I we had their bread and taramasalata, Langoustine Bisque, Arbroath Smokies, Lobster Linguine and Cod and Chips and room to share their Gala Apple Crumble with Creme Anglais. Everything was fresh and delicious ! Nice surroundings too and friendly attentive staff. Marylebone High Street... More

My wife took me to FishWorks again on Saturday for my Birthday celebration,as usual the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very good, the only downside this time was sometimes the background music was too obtrusive and not suitable for such a good restaurant. The waiters were very good and not too overpowering. The fish cakes from their wet... More

Only go to FishWorks if you love fish because there isn't anything else on the menu. I had the day special and it was delicious! Everything is super fresh and I really recommend having a look at the specials because they are worthy it. Side note we had the clotted cream creme brule, fantastic!

This restaurant has always been up until very recently a culinary delight of mind. Unfortunately a recent visit has destroyed my confidence in this establishment, the Maneger appeared rude and dismissive of my polite request to be removed from a table in the corridor next to a perpetual revolving door, despite the fact that I have already booked a table... I ordered the yellow tuna salad nicoise. It arrived with an egg cut in half which was almost completely uncooked with the white very runny. I asked if it might be posssible to have it a little more cooked and that I was quite happy to have a runny yolk but not the white. The waitress was very understanding but... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
