We were a group of four for a midweek dinner. We ordered a mix of things: fruit de mer platter had lovely oysters and prawns etc., a plate of warm mussels was pleasing, the version of fish and chips was a standout. (We might have preferred the scallops without all those bread crumbs, but the presentation was pretty.) Friendly service.... More

Great meal and wine tonight. It was fairly quiet but it was a cold Monday night. Had an 8.30 reservation and it doesn't close until 10.30 and as we were the last people left at 10.15pm it was obvious they were waiting for us to go so they could close. For this reason, as we felt a little uncomfortable, we... More

This is a down to earth restaurant without frills to eat tasty seafood in a relaxed atmosphere. Two of us liked all we tried from soup to grilled fish to dessert. Good and friendly service who was patient with questions.

This was my fourth visit - the menu slightly changes due to the daily catch but there is always a great selection. It was easy to choose something for each course and the wine list was extensive and pretty reasonable. Our waitress was charming and very helpful and the pace of service was just right - we did not feel... More

This place is great in many ways! The fish and seafood is the freshest you can get in London. They even have a fishmonger at the front of the restaurant, where you can pick your food if there is nothing from the menu which takes your fancy. However, I am sure there will be as the menu is extensive. I... More

Really superb fish dishes (including the veritable cod & chips) well-presented, at a reasonable price, in very pleasant surroundings. It's also nicely designed requiring passage through the fishmongers to the restaurant itself. Unfortunately, it was not great service. The waiting staff were generally inattentive. Our meals arrived with a several minutes gap between the first and last dish served (between... More

This is an absolutely fabulous fresh fish restaurant with outstanding oysters, salmon, and other fresh fish. The actual choice varies by day as it's completely fresh. You have to go past the storefront which looks like a fishmonger's stall (and smells like it) but do so, for a real treat. It's a small place, and can be noisy, but has... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
