We were back in Cumbria for a week of walking so were keen to try this place again after a great first visit last April. We were not disappointed - the food and the friendly service make this a great place to come for informal...More

This is Cumbria's best kept secret, and I'm not sure I should be reviling it! The Lunch menu has some choices that you would be hard put to find in a top class restaurant. On top of that there is a "set menu" for £7...More

We called in expecting a traditional tea room but found (unusually for a garden centre) it was more a mix of a lunch/dessert restaurant and a coffee and cake establishment. We managed a snack lunch of scrambled eggs followed by a scone (which was very...More

Booked the restaurant in the evening as a private function on this occasion. Lovely, lovely food and staff very attentive, smiley and helpful. A perfect birthday celebration with friends and family. Food also been amazing on other occasions when I've visited. Definitely worth the short...More

Good breakfast had by us, fresh bowl of water for the dog which she appreciated. Service and quality was good...bacon more like a thin gammon steak. Only downside was the lack of toast! We each received one tiny (and already halved) slice of toast with...More

The restaurant is signposted as the tearoom for a (rather good) garden centre, but it is a proper restaurant. Very good value at lunchtime, with a rarely-seen lobster risotto as well as more conventional fare.

This unassuming restaurant is off the beaten track and forms part of a lovely garden centre in what appears to be an old railway station. Unassuming it may be, but the food punches way above its weight. Good menu for lunch and tea and does...More

My wife ordered a Beef dinner, which had the poorest beef I have seen in a long time. Very fatty and full of connective tissue which was too chewy for her. Appraised staff of this but not even an apology. Will not go back. As...More

This restaurant is part of a garden centre however on a Friday and Saturday evening it opens as a restaurant serving outstanding an fine dining experience. I found it by chance during a holiday and consider it as a hidden gem.
