It was our first visit to Kendal and decided to have our Anniversary meal at the Beijing House. We was well looked after and had very enjoyable meal and everything was clean and well presented.

We called in here for an early meal and were not disappointed. We were actually the only 2 people in at 5.45pm, but the chap in charge was very attentive and friendly. We orderd a couple of drinks, then our food and it came in superquick time, was nice and hot and tasted fab. Kung-Po king Prawn, Crispy Thai Style... More
Visited on Fri 17 Feb 17. Group of 4, lots of chat so for convenience we had the set meal for 4. Great value, really tasty food and friendly staff. The restaurant is quite small, although there is more seating upstairs. The menu is varied and the portions generous. This is a great location as well, right on the high... More
Ordered a takeaway from here to be delivered. Was told at the time of ordering that it would be with us in 1hr. 2hrs later, we were still waiting. Phoned back to see what was happening and was told it was on its way. It arrived 25mins later. Some items missing and most items far from hot. We used to... More
We had a very pleasant meal for two. There is a good choice of either set menus or à la carte at reasonable prices. The choice of wine on the menu was very good, and we enjoyed a lovely Australian white wine.
Went last night with my husband, wasn't our first choice but the other places fully booked. Food was really nice and arrived quickly, we went for the set menu for £19pp, mixed starters platter followed by crispy duck then a choice of 2 mains with egg fried rice. Service was great and the drinks reasonable, the major downside was how... More
I haven't been in Kendal for months, but my visit, today, to this excellent restaurant was like coming home. The staff were just lovely. As for the food, I had chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce. It was full of succulent meat and really tasty. The rice was fluffy and light. Still highly recommended.
(reviewing specifically the takeaway, we've never eaten in here) I've never been a fan of Chinese cuisine and this place completely changed my mind. Their veggie platter is spot on, all fresh ingredients, made from scratch. no frozen nonsense, perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious. As a vegetarian I cannot vouch for their meat, but I stand by them when I say... More
We visited on business in the evening and found that the staff were struggling to understand English due to them being Easter European. They could do with brushing up on their language skills if serving people everyday! One of our party enquired about a certain sauce but the staff had no idea and didn't bother to enquire with the chef... More
