Popped in after a long walk. The cafe was busy but we found a table at a window looking out at a stunning view. There was a good choice of cakes etc, we decided on the fruit scones with butter and jam. They were very tasty but you couldn't spread them as they just crumbled all over the plate when... More

Great to see the Potting Shed is dog friendly. To stop for a coffee, lunch or to just mooch about the garden centre with our dog was a very pleasant experience. Lots of quirky gifts for presents.

Visited Grasmere village and as is often the case couldn't find parking. Saw The Potting Shed (with car park) so thought we'd give it a try. It was wonderful. Our light lunch was superb - delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. There's a great shop too.

We stopped here near the end of our walk around Grasmere. Service was prompt and friendly. Soup was delicious.

Called here today for lunch, soup was good, if a bit too salty for our tastes. Got a pot of tea for 2, £2.10 per person & only one tea bag in the pot which meant when you topped it up with hot water for a second cup it was very weak.

We both had the chicken and mushroom soup with lovely granary crusty bread. You get a good size bowl of soup and a generous chunk of bread. Good service and nice surroundings. The Potting Shed Cafe is part of the garden centre and shop which has a great variety and selection of things to look at, worth knowing for a... More

Visited this place for a breakfast before we set off up Helm Crag. Breakfast took around 10 minutes to arrive and was very tasty and good quality, all local produced products and filled us adequately. Service was very good and tables were spaced out and a good size. Will definitely be back.

Always quality here and the staff are so friendly. The garden centre shop seems to be de-stocking and less choice.. not as much as last January

Usually quite popular, it is a good place to relax out of the rain whilst visiting the garden centre. The food is reasonably priced for the Lake District.

It was just one hour before closing on a Sunday in January, and we had just intended to stop for a coffee after a stroll round town before checking in to our hotel. However, the display of lovely cakes on the counter proved to be just too tempting, and we naughtily had a piece each! No regrets there!! I was... More
