Came across this lovely cafe. As it was a nice day we sat outside. Orders are taken inside and then food is delivered to you when ready. Great friendly service, the outside of the cafe is beautiful with a little river running next to it and lovely seating area. Definitely recommended

A decent cafe in the centre of Ambleside by the river. Had tasty carrot and red pepper soup, sausage bap, two rolls and a gluten free toastie. Great selection of gluten free sandwiches and cakes but felt the 'regular' bread was a bit lacking - the bread with the soup and filled rolls were soft white baps, the same as... More

This cafe is by the side of the stream in the centre of Ambleside. We were fortunate as the sun came out and we were able to sit outside. There is a good choice for a light lunch we had the homemade soup which was really tasty. The selection of cakes were really good and so were the portions! A... More

We went in the summer and sat outside, the atmosphere was lovely. The outdoor space is very pretty, lots of flowers and a stream flowing down the side. Good range of food and drinks. And good service.

A lovely place to grab a coffee and a cake whilst enjoying the gurgling stream that runs past the cafe. The service is prompt, drinks are very good and that location perfect.

Had quiche, soup, and chocolate cake. All delicious. Super charming decor as well, and dog friendly. Highly recommend.

7 of use ate here over the Easter period, lovely quirky café but very overpriced. When we arrived the tables were littered with the previous occupants crockery and cutlery and when it still hadn't been cleared up 10 minutes after we sat down I had to ask someone to remove them. I ordered the childrens hamper at £5.95, it was... More

After getting soaked on our return from Wray Castle, we got a great welcome from a very friendly team who reheated my order following my return to the car park. All food was well-presented and used good ingredients. Salmon in the quiche, ham and mature cheddar in the panini, strong coffee and the home-made toffee sponge. Star of the show... More

Want somewhere that is very different this is for you. What an interesting place eat or drink inside or outside near the river. We had coffee and scones inside which I think must be the old watermill building. We had the Jumbo cup of coffee bet you have never had bigger!

On a lovey day thus is a gem. You can sit by the river enjoying a drink and something to eat and watch and listen to the river. During our visit I had a toastie and then had a piece of carrot cake which was lovely. Dogs are also made very welcome.

Thank Rob B
